[Help] Shopping Addiction Updates to this post /post/224114-shopping-addiction Wed, 25 Nov 2009 16:53:00 +0100 Reply from hzirkl /post/224114-shopping-addiction#reply-4776898 Shopping addiction can affect any person from any walk of life. For some the addition is managable but for others it becomes like gambling or alcohol addiction. My sister uses the excuse that she is shopping so that she can resale the items on ebay to make more money. Her husband had to build a shed out back for her to store her items in… and ofcourse she posts items on ebay…but then uses the money to buy more.

Reply from Victoria Sponge /post/224114-shopping-addiction#reply-4562779 I’m the worst, I love buying a great pair of shoes, I got into massive debt and had no savings, I am getting better now but still never have much left over at the end of the month, I do however have about 50 pairs of shoes, 5 pairs of boots, 2 pairs of trainers and much much more stuff that i don’t need, my bf has already informed me that we will never under any circumstances have a joint bank account

Reply from chev.jame /post/224114-shopping-addiction#reply-4562712 It’s very real, and it destroys marriages and causes homes to be lost. And I’d guess that it affects more like 10 - 12 percent of the population. The shopping channels, such as QVC, are largely supported by shopping addicts . . . and the execs at QVC are well aware of this fact, and exploit it.
