[Help] Don't know where to turn. Updates to this post /post/224196-dont-know-where-to-turn Mon, 23 Nov 2009 23:22:31 +0100 Reply from closed /post/224196-dont-know-where-to-turn#reply-4565211 Contact your local WalMart. Talk to the manager or head of customer service.
WalMart stores will sponsor families who are going through hard times, so that the children will get gifts and winter clothes etc.

It takes some swallowing of pride, but once you’ve done that you can ask them.
You never know.

Good luck!

Reply from Mayor /post/224196-dont-know-where-to-turn#reply-4564080 I strongly disagree. Spending will help the problem, the fed just needs to know where to spend the money and the money has to come with stipulations to unfreeze credit right now. That is a consensus among experts and economists on both sides of the argument. The fed isn’t forcing lenders to renegotiate mortgages which they should be doing.

As for your house, I think you should consider selling. Pride cometh before the fall. You can always work hard and be able to afford another house. I was always taught that you should never fall in love with a house or a car, because there is always one better out there.

The washer and dryer isn’t a necessity and you should reconsider your decision to buy them. Gifts are just material things and you should be happy that you have a roof over your head for now. I urge you to play your cards right and set your pride aside for now so that you can weather this storm.

You’re not a failure. This is just life. The only time when you have no issues is when you are dead. So for now, you have to deal with what is on your plate. I wish you the best of luck.

Reply from ta /post/224196-dont-know-where-to-turn#reply-4563866 I don’t believe things are going to come back so soon. I believe thing are going to get much worse before they begin to get better. I think we are on the road to economic collapse. Spending more money isn’t going to help, only hurt, heck its excessive credit spending that got us here and spending more isn’t going to make it better.

As for selling my home, it’s not an option. I would rather work harder, and have been in order to keep it. I just need to get lucky and earn enough to get a little ahead and get back some of what was lost.

I am working on getting a new washer and dryer now, then roof. As for Christmas, you may not think it’s important, but I don’t agree. I just want to be able to give my family a little something for Christmas.

I guess I just feel like a bit of a failure right now.

Reply from ldyleeblkpear /post/224196-dont-know-where-to-turn#reply-4563737 I know what your talking about, i’m a mother of three and it seems like everything i try to do to help my children and i just seems to go up in smoke. I’m working for the dade schools and i’m sure that you have heard of all the people that are loseing thier jobs, while i’m one of the lucky ones so far i haven’t recieved a pink slip. My postion was change because the one that i was working in had been cancelled out. So i had to choose if i wanted to cut my hours or move to the office and work for olny 250.00 a week. My rent is almost a thousand dollars a month, the lights are higher, and higher each month because i can’t afford to pay the whole bill at once. Sometimes my kids have to go to bed on a empty stomach, if my mother doesn’t feed them for me. I can’t finish off college because i don’t have the money to do that and right now there aren’t much loans for schools. The reason i’m telling you all of this is to let you know that you are not alone in this world and going though the things that you are. I have a believe that we are going to over come from all this that we are going though. There is a higher power and he/she will not let us down and hear every prayer and every plea that we are calling out to him/her. Stand with your head up high believe and in the right time everything will fall in place.

Reply from Mayor /post/224196-dont-know-where-to-turn#reply-4563614 That’s a rough spot to be in. Do you still own the house? Is it possible to do a short sale on the property and find a nice apartment? I’m sorry you don’t have money for christmas gifts but gifts aren’t anything. You have your life and health and so do they. Do something together as a family to raise spirits. Go carolling. As for your wife, try not to worry. The mortgage industry will pick back up soon. I also am in the real estate industry and I believe that things will pick up in a couple of months. The first step was the fed injecting money to the banks to unfreeze credit. The banks will start lending money again and everything will be fine. Good luck with everything and keep us updated.
