Reply from The Clue /post/224795-virus-problems#reply-4609453 Ad-ware not so much, but the other two (Viruses and Mail-ware) are being written in the form of a root kit that will hide itself as soon as you boot your PC so that the virus program doesn’t even see it when it imitates. As you said most of the programs will not see it at all and think that its part of the system and ignores it. There is still ways to check your system and prevent the root kits from starting up, then they can be removed.

Actually, most newer viruses are written specifically so that they can’t be removed by most antivirus software. It’s the same for most adware/malware.

Reply from pbjtime0 /post/224795-virus-problems#reply-4609274 sorry but all of these posts are useless. antivirus programs CATCH viruses, they’re usually VERY poor at “removing” them, because they are a form of PREVENTATIVE maintenance.

www.timstechtips.com if you want a virus removed
(just call or write or something, I’m not going to charge you for advice, I just need more info to give specific removal information)

Laina, sorry if I offended you, but there are two things you should know about me:

1. I abhor sexism and am a vehement proponent of equality.
2. I like to indulge in a lot of sarcastic humor.
3. I exaggerate often.

“045001″, I agree - the girls I meet are just like that.

Reply from Vilén /post/224795-virus-problems#reply-4575560
i was talking about things made by humanity. which leaves love, spiralfrog, and the library.

The library costs a lot of money (typically taxes). LIbrarians and authours ARE getting paid.

Spiralfrog or any website costs money too. You need to pay for electricity, an internet connection, and computer equipment.

As for love, perhaps it is free. But love is hardly tangible is it? It’s just a feeling or something you just do. Like happiness or masturbating (both also free).
Love requires a LOT of money. Women start to “love” you when they sense a credit card.

Some people make programs for free just to prove that you don’t have to pay for something that is going to work just as well or better than the ones that you have to pay for. Sometimes the competition pays them off so that they can take it off the market because its is better than the one that they provide, its happens allot. Hope this helps :-)
you really believe this? nothing in life is free
Air… love… the stars… the sun… spiralfrog.com… books from the library…

Personally, I used to pay for bullguard (www.bullguard.com) and have done for about 5 years. if you need a one-off ‘fix’, download the one month trial and run a full scan. then just uninstall it.

Reply from Laina1312 /post/224795-virus-problems#reply-4572753 AVG and Comodo work really well together without conflicting and Comodo has a firewall, too.

Reply from The Clue /post/224795-virus-problems#reply-4571198 You do know that if you have multiple virus programs running that they will conflict with each other.

If your PC seems like its slowing down and having a hard time surfing the web or just doesn’t seem right. If you think that you have a virus or bug. You need to clean it out first to find out what’s causing the problems. Here’s a few programs that I use regularly and they take very little time and skill to run.
You should go to http://download.com and get these programs.
AD WARE AND SPY WARE REMOVERS:
AD-Aware: http://www.download.com/3120-20_4.htm…
Spybot search and destroy: http://www.download.com/Spybot-Search…
CCleaner: http://www.download.com/CCleaner/3000…
If you don’t have an Antivirus program you can use.
Avast: http://www.download.com/Avast-Home-Ed…
or AVG: http://www.download.com/AVG-Anti-Viru…
and for your firewall a good program is
Zone Alarm: http://www.download.com/ZoneAlarm-Fir…
Install these programs and run them regularly. This will keep your system clean and running properly. These programs are free and Download.com is a part of CNET (the site that your posting on right now). Hope this helps :-)
