I beleive you are inncorrect. Material possesions can make you happy, but happiness comes from the mind. You don’t need material possesion to make you happy though.
I also disagree with “A spouse will hurt you, friends will hurt you.” That may be, but you make it sound like having friends or a spouse is a loss. You are the friends of your friends, and the spouse of your spouse. Jesus teaches us to love everyone, so just because you can and will obviosly be hurt in some way by everyone this doesn’t mean that harm will ultimatly come out of a relationship.

I think its a valid statement though it depends on your understanding of what jesus is.

Obviously everything isn’t Jesus as he appeared ordinarily as a man or everything would have to be made out of his one fleshy body which would be quite hard to imagine.

But the qualities displayed by Jesus, his omniscient loving compassionate nature maybe that could be the everything that people are referring to when they say everything is Jesus. They may well mean that when you understand the true nature of all things you will see that it is this nature displayed by and ascribed to Jesus.

Now the hard bit, to understand what jesus is…..

Might take a while seeing as most of us aren’t that great people ourselves.
