It all started after I went to a pentecostal church where they believe in God revealing himself in dreams as something to seek. Eventually, when I was 25 I was diagnosed as schizophrenic. I firmly believe if I had never crossed over from Baptist to Pentecostal then I would still be normal to this day. I have recoved because now I have been takling 30mg of Zyprexa for 5 years. I still have the vivid dreams, but now when I wake up I don’t tell anyone about them and don’t believe they all have to come true regardless of weather the dream is positive or negative or good or bad. I hold more of a scientific point of view that dreams are just my imagination and not God communicating with me as to my future.

Schizophrenia is a broad illness and also includes symtoms such as experiencing visual and ‘taste’ hallucinations. I’ve never known of any schizophrenic having ‘weird beliefs’. Unless you mean believing that people are out to harm them, that people can read their thoughts etc then this tends to be resulting from auditory hallucinations i.e. hearing voices and is often referred to as paranoid schizophrenia. Schizophrenia tends to manifest around the age of 15 and there are very few cases diagnosed beyond the age of 25. You tend to devolope it at a young age but you can suffer from it for the rest of your life. However the symptoms can be controlled through prescription drugs, and many schizophrenics live successfully within society
