If when it restarts I take the disc out, it gives me the error message!

Well the laptop hard disk should be in some external enclosure on the bottom. It’s almost like the battery, except its screwed in. I probably wouldn’t recommend tinkering with it, then. I’m not sure what you mean though when you say you reinstalled Windows and it doesn’t work. Is it the same message about your disk?

but it still recognizes that the HD is connected and that there is data on it…
should I still try?
