The deviation is the anticipated amount off of that expected results… to if you hear something like, “… the results will be 60%, plus or minus 5%”. So if the actual answer found through testing is anywhere between 55% and 65%, then the answer fell withing the standard or the experimental deviation. That’s my understanding anyway.
