I don’t use IE (I assume that’s what you’re using) so I’m not sure how much help I can be, but if you know the file name you can just search your entire hard drive for it. (my computer > C: > press ctrl+f)

I also have to suggest using a browser with a built in download manager like firefox or chrome.
