Reply from NeoPhoenix303 /post/249519-does-anyone-know-the-disease-where#reply-4817177 How about Porphyria?

There are about eight different types of porphyria, three of these types of porphyria can sometimes cause sensitivity to light: Erythropoietic Protoporphyria (EPP) or Protoporphyria, Porphyria Cutanea Tarda (PCT) and Variegate Porphyria.

Reply from jh14591 /post/249519-does-anyone-know-the-disease-where#reply-4816962 lupus. Sunlight and heat can cause horrible reactions for people who have lupus. While it isn’t necessarily fatal it can cause extreme complications.

Reply from spiritedsoul /post/249519-does-anyone-know-the-disease-where#reply-4816911 actually, i have heard some people can have a skin condition which is sensitive to sunlight and can damage their skin. there was a story of a young girl who has to stay in most the time and has to have special windows put in to protect her skin. when she goes outside she has to cover up and be VERY careful, always wearing a sunhat. very sad.

Reply from Shepherd /post/249519-does-anyone-know-the-disease-where#reply-4816901 The only thing I can think of is Photophobia, which isn’t strictly a disease, but an uncontrolable fear of light - to the point where people live their lives in complete darkness at all times. I’m not sure if such a disease actually exists. I know some illnesses can cause severe reactions to natural light; like meningitis, which causes extreme pain when the eyes come into contact with bright light.
