Reply from ben_j_richard /post/263248-hello-guys#reply-4928192 well spike. I have been reading and listening and well, to my eyes it apears you ahve an idea and not a cogent proposal. I may be wrong.

I do not know what your undergrad was in but my advice is that if you are interested in cancer and treatments there of, you seak those that have worked on it their entire life.

By this i mean treating cancer in theory and practice are very different and what seems like it might work may not be viable. So my advice would be this, if you ahve an idea and a theory speak to an academic in oncology or in medical physics. Get their opinion on it first and then if you are nearing the end of your degree do a phd or masters in the cancer feild of medical physics. if you join a resurch team on its treatment you will ahve your funding.

Forgive my wariness of your idea, i hope you do ahve a new and effective treatment. I ahve just met so many people like you who have lots of ideas to solve physics things in lots of fields but havent necessarily seen every angle and problem that might arise and maybe also not seen the physical inposibility of it. This is why your best next step is to speak to an acedemic in the feild. They will not steal it as they will ahve their own ideas they are working on for many years. But they will be able to point out problems and things you may not of thought of.

Im afraid with out results no journal will publish it and no one will fund it if your not acredited in the field.

Dont be dishartened, but if it is good and works people will take you seriously.

So first port of call is run your idea by an acedemic in the feild to see if it has already been tried and viable. Then find a resurch group active in the area of radiation cancer treatments. bring it to them. You will need to learn more about the feild too by doing a phd in it and that will open routs to writing papers and resurch grants. But with out the suport of an acedemic in the feild you stand no chance,

i have 5 more research ideas but this is more important to me

the 5( is about sollar cells , fussion, solar heating ,..etc)

Reply from Luck of the Irish /post/263248-hello-guys#reply-4928156 Did you try getting it published into a newspaper and let the scientists do the work? I was told about that before make a prediction and the scientists will do your experiment to prove your wrong or at least try to prove it’s wrong.

Reply from Luck of the Irish /post/263248-hello-guys#reply-4928154 Hello,
Did you try going to your local hospitals? They might be able to help, hwever don’t forget we are in a “The dreaded “R” Word” is coming … recession and so it might be very hard to find a sponsor, make sure you have your industrial report written up strongly or else they may not want it.

Reply from thedancingdocto /post/263248-hello-guys#reply-4928150 I think approaching a cancer research charity is good idea. After all, people donate money so they can reasearch it and try to cure it - that’s all they’re there for.

I think it’s unlikely people will steal your research…especially if it gets publshe somewhere.

Reply from Spike Spiegel /post/263248-hello-guys#reply-4928148 radiotherapy of cancer until now i have done all the theoretical stuff and all that i need is to do the experiments to prove my finding but this is my 1st time so i dont know the mechanism of the funding process i have a lot of cancer in my family and freiends and i want to do it for them … this is my finel year in the university so i am fresh until now

They should be an honest bunch. But good luck

Reply from ben_j_richard /post/263248-hello-guys#reply-4928128 well depends in the type of resurch you are doing. Also presenting your resurch idea for funding dosent require you to present your findings.

Also How can they steal it and call it theirs if you ahvent done it yet??

however if you ahve done it then publishing it in a journal would stop anyone being able to claim it as their own. However this very much depends on the nature of your resurch. AS if a medical copany has you do resurch in developing a new drug they are not exaclty going to let you publish their findings for other companies to copy.

So what is your resurch about?
