Reply from sleepysteve /post/268804-almost-every-night-i-am-just-about#reply-5004858 Sounds like you are having hypnic jerks. They are generally nothing to worry about and very common, something like 10% of people have them regularly.

Not enough research has been done to work out why we get them or how to stop them, but one theory is that your body is fooled into thinking it’s falling as your muscles relax and brain motor control lessens. It’s an instinctive jolt to try and save you from danger.

I’d say try and get some help sorting out your anxiety and the hypnic jerks may become less regular. Sleeping disorders are often a symptom of the underlying issue.

Reply from Anonymous /post/268804-almost-every-night-i-am-just-about#reply-4964347 Thank you both for answering. I don’t drink coffee, tea, dark pops or anything like that. I drink milk mostly. I do have anxiety.

I’ve never heard of idoser before. “lucid dreams” hmmm. Interesting. Does it cost anything? Thanks again. :)

Reply from knight_edg /post/268804-almost-every-night-i-am-just-about#reply-4963684 Possibly due to some underlying stress or anxiety. Also are you having any caffeine before you go to bed?
