[Help] My rant for the day: Updates to this post /post/274724-my-rant-for-the-day Mon, 30 Nov 2009 14:56:05 +0100 The post was closed by diver /post/274724-my-rant-for-the-day#reply-8328332 diver Mon, 11 May 2009 02:45:34 +0100 Reply from eb0nI /post/274724-my-rant-for-the-day#reply-5002690 lol, yes the length is a bit much ^_-;
perhaps blogging would be a better forum, so you could have regular readers, who’d take the time to listen to what you have to say. Maybe help.com *cough* should integrate that somehow *suggestive cough*

You’d think there’d be more responses, with the amount of disgruntled angsty people who may want to blame their parents or somethin or just vent about them or society. (maybe thats just me o_o).

Reply from diver /post/274724-my-rant-for-the-day#reply-5002679 It’s a little more than a rant, but that’s how it got it’s start.
My rant evolved into a 3 hour long writing frenzy.

I am guessing that by the lack of response, either my rant is too long to read or a little more than the average person can understand. Or perhaps it’s offensive to parents who may or may not realize they do the exact same things.

Reply from eb0nI /post/274724-my-rant-for-the-day#reply-5002661 [quote diver]when parents delight and laugh at a toddler with attitude until the attitude becomes a behavioral problem in primary school. Not often is the relation between these incidents noted, but I believe there is a strong connection.

that is unbelievably true! and why I seem to find that it simply cultivates such negative attributes in so many families I know, but these families have so much pride. They believe that what their doing is acceptable, because everyone else does it. which really one of the many negative aspects about the society we live in. Public humiliation may serve as a lesson but it seems kinna extreme. maybe if some sort of program was available to inform and teach parents about this, and maybe if that replaced the tv shows that were on now it might make a difference also.
And maybe have better TV shows on for kids, so that they have good examples on tv at least.
Yep, my 2 cents worth.
Good rant by the way

Reply from diver /post/274724-my-rant-for-the-day#reply-5002638 There’s been a media explosion of pregnancy and parenting popularity and it would seem that this is where the change needs to begin. Perhaps if bad parents were humiliated by media, the cycle may come to an end. I am skeptical of laws because I worry that it would do further damage to the judicial system by filling courts with inept parents that don’t know any better. I think humility is something that we could all benefit from. Without it, we are less aware of our mistakes, making it rare to learn any life lessons.

Reply from Mr. P /post/274724-my-rant-for-the-day#reply-5002624 They need laws to regulate child behavior like this. Something so that the rest of the enraged and embarrassed don’t just have to sit by while an ignorant parent lets these things happen.
