You’re supposed to get out of the house, get your own territory, and your own mate and your own life.

But frustration comes from expectations not meeting reality. Best to exercise vigorously and try to appreciate what they do for you. Their attitude will change dramatically if you show an interest in their lives vs just your own. You’ll be able to appreciate what they do and exercise your own independence.
