Reply from Fuzzy Pepper /post/286874-how-can-the-quotient-of-6-and-a-num#reply-5081868 Sad part is: I’m not drinking brandy or anything else for that matter…I’m sober as can be. Maybe I should be checked for old age cobwebs in the brain :) OR…maybe I should get some sleep :)

Reply from Mr. P /post/286874-how-can-the-quotient-of-6-and-a-num#reply-5081852 It’s the quotient though, not the product of 6 and x. Also, parentheses aren’t necessary due to order of operations.

Reply from Fuzzy Pepper /post/286874-how-can-the-quotient-of-6-and-a-num#reply-5081827 Maybe…but the way I learned it was that you multiply first, and the first calculations are put in parentheis…so you would multiply 6 times a number that is unknown (x), so it is 6x’s plus 10.

Reply from Mr. P /post/286874-how-can-the-quotient-of-6-and-a-num#reply-5081822 Wouldn’t it be 6/x + 10?
