Reply from Anonymous /post/287075-computer-slower-after-replacing-mot#reply-5088177 Running xp. I know it’s not neccesarily how much ram I have but I am thinking maybe the ram and or CPU arnt propely compatible with te motherboard , though according to the instructions they are. But maybe they are too slow? The old mobo had an fsb of 800mhz and this new one is 1066mhz or something. Also I updated the bios to the latest version and updatd mobo drivers. I’m not sure If this makes. Difference or not. Another thing is the motherboard supports sata 3gb/s and my hard drive is 1.5gb/s though the old board was also 1.5gb/s transfer rate.

The ram speed maybe a problem.
Make sure your new motherboard supports that type of ram.

Do control/alt/del and look at what things are running
it should show 99% of cpu being used by the idle process.
If its less say 60% then see what program is using up that cpu power.
try closing that program and check the speed.[/quote]

are you running vista or xp?

Reply from spiratec9 /post/287075-computer-slower-after-replacing-mot#reply-5083359 for Vista you may need 2 gigs of ram to make it happy.
God bless us all.

Reply from spiratec9 /post/287075-computer-slower-after-replacing-mot#reply-5083357 try updating the mother board drivers.
If you are running Vista then good luck.
I don’t like that system.its very resource intensive.

Reply from Anonymous /post/287075-computer-slower-after-replacing-mot#reply-5083304 spiratec9, in the motherboard instruction manual it says that it is compatible with 667 mhz i think up to 1066mhz aswell. when i turn on the computer, it says on the post screen that the ram is running at 667mhz (which it should be) and the cpu at 2.8ghz per core ( as it should be ). the system idle processes right now is at 95-98. i always try to make sure all un-necesary processes are not running. i notice things like games running slowly and ripping a cd with itunes very slow.
