Reply from Anonymous /post/287938-i-got-a-job-and-it-fell-through-a-m#reply-5091300 I’m grateful for everyone’s kind words.

I got out with a friend for some distraction, helped him with a project. That seems the only way to avoid getting self-centred and pessimistic!

Reply from C. S. /post/287938-i-got-a-job-and-it-fell-through-a-m#reply-5089973 I did that too.

This last fall I got the “perfect” job. I was a web developer. I got paid well, I got to work my own hours, I had a good boss, etc. It was perfect. Great.

Then I realized that he needed someone who’s ability was higher than mine. Also, I found self- motivation VERY difficult. I was happy when I finally quit.

Reply from Anonymous /post/287938-i-got-a-job-and-it-fell-through-a-m#reply-5089971 I have no clue what littlenick is saying. It doesn’t really apply to the job I was accepted for as I never got to start it.

Anyhow, I checked email and it turns out I still have 4 other options still in play with personal recommendations on my side for two of them.

Time to get out of the house.

Reply from littlenick /post/287938-i-got-a-job-and-it-fell-through-a-m#reply-5089939 So you just wished for that job to go away? That’s what you did thinking like that.

You should have pictured yourself getting your first raise and being at that job for a long time and keeping it.

Most of the time when we wish for something and think that something might not work out, it shall be.

That’s what you did.

Next time, think positive all the way through!!!

Reply from Anonymous /post/287938-i-got-a-job-and-it-fell-through-a-m#reply-5089926 Thanks. I think it was more that my confidence got raised by this after so long trying.

The thing is this other opportunity is a place I worked many years ago. And now I wonder what their reaction will be. I feel like jelly.
