[Help] I've never been so ashamed. Updates to this post /post/288758-ive-never-been-so-ashamed Tue, 08 Dec 2009 10:34:32 +0100 Reply from L.J /post/288758-ive-never-been-so-ashamed#reply-5135224 The same thing happened to me this last year. The year before this I was an above average student. So next year, I know I’ll get back right on track. Just whatever you do DON’T waste the rest of your time with non-important things, distractions. Make your parents proud & finish the kind of student you should’ve been the past few years.

Reply from feel_good /post/288758-ive-never-been-so-ashamed#reply-5099849 You should never be ashamed of yourself anytime. Instead of wasting your time and energy in being ashamed, disappointed and cursing yourself, you should use all that energy in trying to achieve what you want in your life. You are in a better situation now than you were before because you realized what is going wrong in your life and why it is going wrong. Always, if you understand a problem, you are half way through its solution. So, you should NEVER lose your hope. From now on, be positive and try to do what you can do instead of contemplating on why you wasted so much of time.

Reply from auroranflas /post/288758-ive-never-been-so-ashamed#reply-5099654 That is a valuable lesson you can teach your kids someday, and something many of us are having to deal with now — things we didn’t take care of and were not responsible for in the past, coming back to bite us in the butt. I’d say hop to, chop chop! It’s not too late. Do your best and change your attitude now that you have recognized the problem. It will be very hard for you but not impossible. More than a resume, employers look at your attitude. If you have a no holds barred approach from now on, it will take you far. (just try to pull up your GPA!)

Reply from mswrite /post/288758-ive-never-been-so-ashamed#reply-5097770 I have had depression for years too. But after a time I have found that I really did not like my job my focus myself. I did not go what after what I wanted but now I am going to. SO try to find out where his spirit of adventure and interest is and help him bring it to reality. I found that 20 years of taking care of others needs was a safe career (Nurse)but my lifes ambition and love is in art design imagination I was gonna go to school for it instead of nursing, but for where I was living and the type of life I lead, it wasn’t practical so I took the career to where the job market was in the area but now I am back to wanting my art design and market my imagination which is unbearable to some and remarkable to others. Find out what he cares about or what he used to and bring it alive. He needs his spirit back.

Reply from mswrite /post/288758-ive-never-been-so-ashamed#reply-5097758 Are you disappointed in yourself truly or are you disappointed in the fact that you gave your time to others and all you got out of it in return is a bad GPA.

Reply from Abba Zabba /post/288758-ive-never-been-so-ashamed#reply-5094366 At least you people have gone to college, I have yet to get up off my **** and do something about furthering my education. I still don’t know what to do, don’t know where I want to live and don’t have any money. So yeah, you are definitely not alone with feeling kind of useless and with feeling like a smidgen of a failure.

Reply from littlenick /post/288758-ive-never-been-so-ashamed#reply-5094358 Yes. you’re not the only one. I feel like that too. Except that I graduated from college and so far I have not worked in the field from which I graduated in and my degree has just been getting old and now I’m here stuck.
