Reply from grbghp /post/289510-writing-emergency#reply-5099790 it didn’t, it just got incredibly intense.
and its getting harder and harder to stand out even if you do something creative…

Reply from madkin246 /post/289510-writing-emergency#reply-5099787 Exactly! At lease if your gonna do a common idea make it your own. I mean reading the same thing over and over drives me insane. I mean ik that were the technology age but where did everyone creativity go?

Reply from grbghp /post/289510-writing-emergency#reply-5099785 thats just the way it is…
hard o be original these days…
even when you are inventing something new, then someone probably have already done it,
or you have seen it somewhere and forgot that you did…

Reply from auroranflas /post/289510-writing-emergency#reply-5099781 like in final fantasy vii fics, anytime they are flashing back to pre-game times, there’s always a Shinra office party and Sephiroth is always in the corner, disinterested. Lol….

Reply from madkin246 /post/289510-writing-emergency#reply-5099772 Ik what you mean I hate how one person writes a plot and next thing you know there’s a billion of the same story plots.

Reply from auroranflas /post/289510-writing-emergency#reply-5099766 grbghp… great way to say it :D I agree. Changing the scenario and taking what you learned will probably work. You may just give yourself some time to dwell creatively on it and turn it into something perhaps that no one else has done yet (hard to do in fanfic, but). I like to take common scenarios in fanfic and twist them into something strange just to see how the characters react… haha.

Reply from grbghp /post/289510-writing-emergency#reply-5099760 i sometimes lose designs i make if the computer crush and i was too much into the work that i forgot to save…
however, because i start from scratch, and i know better where it was supposed to be going, i don’t try to duplicate the same thing i remembered i did, i start my thinking from the point i was at and create a better result almost always.

writing is different, i agree, but try to let it flow a new, baring in mind the things you have learned about the characters while writing it earlier,
make it sharper, use what you already know to rewrite everything in a better way.
maybe even creating a different event than the characters was at previously, one that will reflect what you wanted to say in a better manner.

Reply from madkin246 /post/289510-writing-emergency#reply-5099759 Well ok so yeah it hasn’t been on tv forever but my brother got me into it a few years back and i ended up writing fanfic for it, Buffy the vampire slayer and Angel.

Reply from madkin246 /post/289510-writing-emergency#reply-5099743 I can’t even remember an exact line, i wrote it months ago. I still have the same perspectives on the characters but writing the emotions again is just draining to even think about. So how would i make that exciting. I want to write it and read it over and think this is just as good or better then the original. You know? I just don’t want to be disappointed.

Reply from auroranflas /post/289510-writing-emergency#reply-5099738 I hate it when that happens!!! It never comes out the same :/ but sometimes you can actually make it better. The biographies idea from Pepsi is a good idea. Just come at it from another angle. One-shots are a good way to get creativity flowing again. Good luck! Remember to have an account like Hotmail or a Livejournal account where you can privately post copies of your story. Never get chapters into anything without having a duplicate…. (I learned this the hard way as well)

Reply from Abba Zabba /post/289510-writing-emergency#reply-5099730 Hm, you can try writing biographies for each of the characters (if you haven’t already.) Give them a full backstory, write about specific major events that happened in their pasts that made them the characters they are today. Figure out what their main motivation is in life. Just get more into the characters and flesh them out a bit and hopefully it will inspire and motivate you to continue with the story? :)
