I don’t think you love this guy. You just think he’s wonderful and all but you don’t love him. However, you just want him there when you need someone to fall back on just in case other boys don’t work out. If he’s happy playing second banana to all your other options, then he must really love you. If I was him–that is if I was him–I would’ve tried to figure you out by now and would have really found out what your true intentions were. But, I would have given you the heave ho a long time ago and maybe find somebody who would have appreciated me and loved me the same way I love them. But that’s just me.

He’s selling himself short by settling for the leftovers that you give him.

I say you don’t love him but you like the comfort that he provides when things don’t work out with other boys.
