Reply from frank /post/291318-computer-problem#reply-5116443 under start > help > select restore> try an earlier date that should be in bold. If it doesn’t work try another. If it still doesn’t work reinstall windows from the original disk select f8 and then select repair or reinstall existing operating system don’t select new install or reformat. The idea is to use existing registry so you don’t have to reinstall all your programs. If that doesn’t work reinstall new xp or vista and then reinstall the programs you need.
