[Help] I'm falling for my friend's girlfriend. Updates to this post /post/291358-im-falling-for-my-friend82 Tue, 01 Dec 2009 19:18:16 +0100 Reply from eschmalz91 /post/291358-im-falling-for-my-friend82#reply-5312426 I feel you bro. I wouldnt have googled this if I wasn’t in a similiar situation, and mine is this. About a year ago, my friend “Daniel” came to my school, as a Freshman, I was a Junior, along with him coming to our school, he brought his sister, whom we will refer to as Jane Doe. Her best friend, happened to end up getting together with one of my good friends, “Steven”, and she was introduced to go to homecoming with my friend “Phil”. Phil apparently was instantly smitten, and I figured the best thing to do was steer clear, I mean I’m not very muscled, and I really didn’t mean to hamper my friends style. Dan saw that I liked her right away, but I managed to convince him other wise. She started talking to me, on Facebook, and we started a huge conversation, sending each other long, long essays. I didn’t want it to turn into anything, I just wanted a good friend, who could maybe help me find a nice girl.. but more and more I grew attached to her, and even though I’m still hiding it, it started driving me insane, especially since I see her all the time, and she makes it a point to see me. At the Workday before the Summer we were completely flirting, but we continued to keep everything platonic past that.
The entire summer, while I was away working, we wrote long letters to each other, and I trusted her with everything, and she trusted me, at least I think so, and in fact I made her a ceramic mug, based on our main common interest for her birthday. I was completely infatuated and in love, and I started drinking and smoking to escape this. She found out that I was smoking MJ and helped me stop, and I did it with out a second thought for her.
In our conversations we have told each other that we would do anything for the other, and made it clear that we care deeply. I do not know if she is oblivious to my affection, intentionally ignoring it, or something other, but the fact remains she is still dating my associate Phil. At this point, I am talking to her almost 24-7 via text message, I often help her with school and she helps me with other stuff, and she is my best friend. I have written poems, song’s and even sonnets, and she has proofread them, not recognizing they are for her..or perhaps recognizing and ignoring.

Reply from dame_nar /post/291358-im-falling-for-my-friend82#reply-5153172 I’m in the same situation, though my friend and I are in a band and the last three songs have been about what I have been feeling for her, in fact I’ve used phrases like “she could be with me” and “to gain a losing tie”, and he really has no idea and he backs up the lyrics, it’s actually quite hilarious. But the more I write the better I feel about the situation, anyways, my advice to you is to decide if this is what you believe is “love” or just a crush, either way, if you think the relationship isn’t going to last any longer then wait for the break up, or just give up, love can hit you at anytime.

Reply from samhill333 /post/291358-im-falling-for-my-friend82#reply-5139036 I’m actually in a pretty similar situation…and it feels like it is getting worse each time I see her. Maybe I am realizing that I don’t have as much of a chance as would be if other circumstances, including a soon geographical move on my part (which is huge and real…I know it’s crazy), not to mention a boyfriend that isn’t a bad guy at all. It sucks when you like someone who is in a relationship, and this has happened to me before. However, just try to stay away and forget about it. I know that’s hard, but as you said, when one door closes, another one opens up.

Reply from victoriadewar /post/291358-im-falling-for-my-friend82#reply-5113338 If it were me, and this was a guy I would just keep acting like myself but nicer. Do little things for her that will make her think you are an amazing guy. It can be as small as giving her a hug, sending her a text, or making her a cd of the same music you both like. Little things go a very long way for girls. If you want her to see your better this s one of the best ways to do so!

Reply from boredarew /post/291358-im-falling-for-my-friend82#reply-5113032 I’m assuming you’re single, ask her something along the lines of how YOU can find the right girl or maybe ask what she things a girl might find attractive in you. You get my drift?

Reply from Anonymous /post/291358-im-falling-for-my-friend82#reply-5113023 Just ask her what she thinks about me? How would I put that into conversation?

Reply from boredarew /post/291358-im-falling-for-my-friend82#reply-5113019 You can do what you want, but just remember with every action there’s a reaction. I would first ask what she thinks about you before you show your cards.

Reply from Anonymous /post/291358-im-falling-for-my-friend82#reply-5112995 I’m just about to start college; most of my friends are going to different schools. Actually, I’m going to same college the girl is, but her boyfriend is going to a different school.

I would say that we are okay friends. It’s a really awkward situation, but I feel like I have to do something…

As much as I hate to say it, I wouldn’t be hurt if I lost that one friendship, because I know I would create many new friendships in college. One door closes and another door opens.
