Reply from Silverwings /post/90860-an-earthquake-in-my-country#reply-3042176 Tradegies do bring us closer, as humans.. often times, bringing out the good that is within… sometimes the worst…. as looters portray…. but.. it is very beautiful indeed, to see people coming to the aid of others.. simply because they are fellow humans in distress….it causes us to lay down our lackadaiasical…..
( i think that is a word….) attitudes… and get in touch with our inner man….
We can be very grateful indeed… for all the outreachs and volunteer efforts … that have been developed … by caring people… that stand ready to offer what they can to help…. it helps us to rethink our priorities…. and to be thankful for what we hold dear…. We never know when a tradegy will strike in our own backyard.

Reply from Hope /post/90860-an-earthquake-in-my-country#reply-3041702 It’s so sad what happened. I’ve heard the Earthquake mentioned several times on the news here, actually. But I agree, there should be more coverage of the event.

Rekaru - for that website you had the link to, there are a couple of links on the left side of the page that includes one for the BBB: http://www.give.org/seal.asp?ID=19133… but definitely ask your parents before sending any money through there and they may want to donate some of their own :] You may also want to call the news stations or the churches in your area, maybe someone there will know where you could send your support to.

Reply from ƒ(x)=healberry³ /post/90860-an-earthquake-in-my-country#reply-3038734 Ugh, I can’t find it though, they just have donations online. If I send it through the mail, there’s no guarantee that it will go to the earthquake relief fund, because there isn’t a specific address just dedicated to that. >.>

Reply from ƒ(x)=healberry³ /post/90860-an-earthquake-in-my-country#reply-3038726 The news must’ve lied then, it said 8.0 earthquake. Either way, its still really bad.

By the way, I found the red cross site but I have to donate using credit card, which I don’t have because I’m only 16. I’m still looking though for a concrete address to send the money to them. >.>

This earthquake business is scary, because over here in California, United States, we are supposed to be due for a really really big one too..

I heard about the earthquake in the news yesterday, I just felt horrible, and then I remembered that there were people from this website that lived over there so I felt extra bad. I hope everything goes alright.

Reply from OccultPizz /post/90860-an-earthquake-in-my-country#reply-3038621 Awesome! We all do things in different ways, and we are all on different steps of our paths. You are doing what you can in your mind ~smiles~, and that is noble! Some people are warriors and thrive in terrible situations, and some people get sick in those same situations, but if we all do what we can we can slow the pain and suffering by weather, lack of water and medicines.

$1 can go a long way if given to the proper charity! ~smiles~. It’s one dollar to a person but adds up to millions for the Red Cross and other organizations and groups who go into the fires of hell to bring a little Heaven ~smiles~.

Reply from OliveOil /post/90860-an-earthquake-in-my-country#reply-3038542 Here is a news story about it…

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/6…

I know what you mean… it is terrible to have to wade through a lot of junk news. Maybe someone like Britany Spears can get in there and do some good …direct the media to take the spotlight off her fame and private life and onto a more worthy cause. Some actors and actresses are actually starting to do this… addressing the issues and needs of others who are suffering hardships and less fortunate.

I should fly down there and donate some time, perhaps I will!

Is there any way you can help volunteer, now is the time people need community. It restores their faith in our ****** up humanity? ~smiles~.

Yeah I hate Brittney, Nicole and Paris. I don’t know why a bunch of sluts get so much airtime, but I know it really says something about the sad state of our world!
