[Help] why do i feel disconnected from the person that i see in the mirror? Updates to this post /post/95423-why-do-i-feel-disconnected-from-the Sun, 07 Sep 2008 04:00:44 +0100 Reply from Oster: Gettin' It. /post/95423-why-do-i-feel-disconnected-from-the#reply-3090346 Oh, ok. Part of it may actually be feeling alienated. I’ve just been chatting with a fellow who moved from northeast to southeast, as I did, and we’ve been sharing feelings about depression and isolation from the move.

What you’ve brought with you should be kind of clear now, and those things that make you unhappy… well, your unhappiness tells you what you want to work on.

I’d guess isolation was a part, and I can understand not feeling friends. You’ve just started the change to the new person, ok? Lighten up on yourself.

How are you with friends and family where you are? Are their people around you?

Reply from breathe free /post/95423-why-do-i-feel-disconnected-from-the#reply-3090291 I just moved half way across the country. i expected to be somebody new, but nothing’s changed. i am still the same person haunted by the same memories of my past. i knew i wasn’t going to change but something in me yearned for it.
