I really appreciate your shout….it shows me that someone is truly understanding what I’m going through. I am doing what I think is besst for me but am still unsure as to what to do. I guess once this other test is done and I find the prognosis, I’ll know where to go from there. BTW- it’s never a burden to try to help others.

I’m happy to hear from you hotdog but I’m very sorry that you health isn’t getting better.
Tbh hotdog, I think you are doing the right thing by leaving this site or at least reducing the amount of time that you spend here. You need to look after yourself now and you don’t really want to be burdening yourself with other people’s problems.
I appreciate your friendship too and you’ve done a lot to help people here. I’ve seen your recent post and noticed that you’ve opened your e-mail to me. So I’ll try and contact you via e-mail in the future.
So please take care of YOURSELF and I’ll speak to you soon. :)

Hey Elysium:
Sorry it has taken this long to get a response from me but my health has gotten worse….my energy level just doesn’t allow me to contribute to this site as much as I’d like to. It’s not that I don’t want to…I just am unable to do the things I’ve enjoyed doing. I do appreciate the friends (such as you) that I’ve met here and will hold dear such friendships. I try to hang in there but, you can go to my profile page which will give you my email address.

I would have no greater honor than to meet you as well. If you’re ever in Florida, my partner and myself would be more than happy to invite you into our home…for that matter, so would our 2 cats :)

I would like to meet you hotdog! I just didn’t want to mention names because I would have ended up just writing out my entire friend list (or there abouts) and I didn’t want to offend the people I didn’t include. ^_^

As a matter of fact, Ever since getting this job I have learned to enjoy computers more than I usually do. The job I had before this was for a retail store and I was just a general sales assistant. It was part time and I was only doing about 12-16 hours per hour but it so boring and I hated it. The people there were great though. Now I’ve got this job, I don’t mind the hours I do, because I am actually enjoying it.

Oh yeah, I do really enjoy it and it does keep me interested. I just frustrated when I’m stuck at a dead end. I do agree though, it’s better to have a job that can keep my mind stimulated. Another reason why I like the job I’ve got is because I get to do a bit of the software and the hardware side, which is good.
Take care of yourself :)

You stated that the field you’re is is complicated but, doesn’t that keep you interested and motivated? How sad it must be to have a job where you have no chalenges or anything else that may potentially stimulate your mind.
Yes…I’m finally feeling a bit better and am trying to participate more.

WOW! Thanks for the advice. I could imagine working for the government takes away a lot of your freedom. I think I’ll stick with working for non-government organisations and businesses.
I like the field I am in. It’s complicated, but I enjoy it. I’m hoping that this placement I’m doing will help me get a job after my final year at Uni. That way I can build up my experience, which is what a lot of companies are looking for. I have a bad habit of calling myself an amateur or similar. My self esteem isn’t very high.
Good to know you are feeling ok. I think everyone here will look forward to your return here.
Take care :)

Don’t be impressed because I worked for Kennedy Space Center….truth is, I could not do anything in my private life without McDonnel Doulas approval. A few years ago, I wanted to go to Italy to see some of my family and I had to go through more red tape than you can imagine. The entire process took about 3 months. Did I make the trip? Barely and I had to shorten it. So many issues too numorous to mention here. Lsson learned: NEVER work for the government….they own you untill the day you die!
I am thrilled to hear you’re doing so well with your career choice…computer field is gr4eat and will top off ithin the next few years so lock yourself in now. BTW- Don’t call yourself an amatuer.
Healthwise, I’m still alive and kicking…I simply refuse to roll over and p-lay dead…I still have too much to accomplish. I will be back on help.com asap.

I’m still an amateur at the moment. I’m on a 12 month work placement for Uni, so I’m still training. The programming I do is close to systems programming rather than applications. I originally wanted to do applications programming, but I’m starting to enjoy systems programming. It’s more challenging, which is fun. Kennedy Space Centre! Very impressive. I’d love to be able to work for a large company like that.
I hope you do get back to normal. It’s good to know that you are trying to do normal activites. Small steps is the key. You don’t want to strain yourself.

A software engineer, eh? I’m impressed. I wish you the very best in your endeafvors. I used to be a systems programmer at the Kennedy Space Center.
I am resting as per my DR…well, as much as I can stand but am trying to start getting back to doing normal activities to a certain degree. I’m just hoping to be back to normal (not that I’ve ever been normal) within a month.

That’s good to know that you are taking rest. I know a lot of people that tend to ignore the doctor’s advice. It’s not good for them.
I’m a software engineer who designs and builds computer systems for different companies. It’s quite a good job. Complicated but good.

I had no choice but to stop working so hard…now, I’m taking a much needed break and going insane . I know I need this time but; I can’t help but think how much there is to do. I’m following DR’s orders, though and just relaxing. BTW- exactly what do you do in your job?

Good to know that the move is complete. I just thought to myself the other day: Where has hotdog been lately? So I thought I would just leave you a shout making sure you are ok.
Don’t work too hard, ok. Your health is an important issue and you don’t want to do anything to make it worse. You can come back when ever you want; we’ll still be here.
My job is going pretty well at the moment. Apart from the fact I have been making quite a few mistakes, I am progessing. I’ve almost completed my first project and it will be shipped to the customer soon. YAY!
Take care of yourself. :)

Hey ELY:
The move is complete but still so much to do…I swear I’ll never move again!!! :) It’s really taken it’s toll on me and am just trying to take it one day at a time. My breathing has become an issue within itself and that’s why I haven’t been on help.com for ahile. How is your job going? Anyway, I’ll be back online as soon as my heath allows.

Hello hotdog. I haven’t seen you in a while. How are you? How have you been dealing with your house after you moved. I hope you are feeling ok.
Speak to you soon. :)

Hey up hotdog, thank you for the shout. How are you feeling?
I haven’t been on much for the past week, because I have started working full time now and I don’t get chance to log on except late at night and over the weekend. However, I think once I have got set up and relaxed with my new schedule, I just be a bit more organised. It’s been quite good here for the past couple of weeks. A bit of the drama from a while ago has died down now.
I hope you are feeling well. :)

Hey Ely:
Haven’t heard much from you lately so I just thought I’d give a shout to sey hey.

First of all, thank you for looking at my profile. Thank you for your support btw. Sometimes when I try to stand up for something (like you said the underdog), I feel a bit naive and as though I am fighting a lost cause. However, I am going to remain optimistic and continue fighting for a good cause.
I think I worded my last shout wrong. I don’t want to add to the rules as such, but try and encourage more people to follow the rules and become better as a society. I’m going to work on this over the week and when I have something put together, I will let you know.
Take care :)

Hi Dan:
I really like your enthusiasm for this site. There are already rules governing this sit under TOS. If you feel so inclined to review them and add something…I’m in agreement with you. It’s about time we reclaim this site and breathe new life into it.
Frank

Thanks for that. I think we need to find a way of getting other decent users to follow this. I have been working on this little idea, please tell me if you think it is terrible or what.
I have been writing down a list of rules/morals that we can follow in order to keep this site relatively peaceful. I have thought that maybe we can start passing these rules to other users and asking them to do their part (with the use of shouts/email). Maybe by doing this, we can SLOWLY encourage more users to act responsible. I think another post will just cause arguments.
Tell me, what you think of this idea. It’s a bit dodgy I know, but I trying to think of anything that may help. I won’t carry it out until I have about 3 other users (inc. you) that think it is a good idea.

The only advice I can give is to simply be aware of what we write….because once it’s posted, it really can never be taken back. If someone posts something offensive, politely let them know. We each must do our part to keep the peace. True, there’s always gonna be some drama but if we all work together, we can keep it to a minimum.

Hello hotdog321. I liked the last comment you made on LazyDazes post and it is very true. I’ve only been a member of this site for just over a month, so I don’t really know what it was like before all of the chaos started. However, I also think that the problem can be rectified if we work together and each do our part. I really want to help, so if you have any advice or ideas; I am willing to try them out.
