  These all have details on treatments both therapeutic and medicinal; Google has a surprisingly large number of hits for this (391,000) considering I’d never heard of it before - I just learned something! ;)
  
  As to your relationship woes…hmm. Seems there’s a bit of a triangle going on (intentional or not), and that means you need to make a decision rather quickly; or you risk losing both possibilities. I can’t tell you how to make that decision - only you know what’s best for you, and who represents that the most.
  
  Last but certainly not least - “Im 24, just starting out on a big career, moved into a new apartment alone”…yes, it could actually be this simple - you’re still pretty young, you’ve just started a big new job and at the same time you’ve just moved into a new apartment (first time living alone?). You might just be feeling a little overwhelmed, and that’s perfectly natural. The subconscious manifests our feelings and thoughts in abstract ways, so if you’re feeling anxious being alone, that would very likely explain your nightmares.
  
  It’s possible, of course, that you’re having panic attacks - in which case there is a long and documented history of treatments, both medical and therapeutic. Here’s a few links from Google:

  We’re in exactly the same boat on this one - I’ve had to go through a lot of re-adjustment to create boundaries and coping mechanisms. That said, I still consider empathy to be a very powerful gift.
  
  I still wear my heart on my sleeve (my facial expressions are a dead giveaway), but I don’t ‘hide’ so much as I remove myself from unpleasant situations. After all, why should I subject myself to needless suffering? Strategic retreat isn’t the same as running away, and I’ve learned to honor my feelings in as constructive a way as possible rather than mask them (which is a near-impossibility).
  
  I’ve also learned to trust people…I just measure and meter that trust very carefully. Friends are more dangerous than enemies - they are easily aroused to envy and possess knowledge that allows them to hurt you far more deeply if they choose.
  
  So I trust my friends - just not with everything. And you don’t have to push people away; that’s actually counter-productive. It’s much easier to move oneself out of the way (see my statement about retreat).
  
  I find that self-confidence plays a large role in human relations; so you may find that doing things you haven’t done or have been afraid to try will broaden your sense of ability (and thus, your general level of confidence in yourself).

  Honesty is a cornerstone in the foundation of a relationship. If you are unhappy with your husband because of his behavior, then tell him so. You don’t have to be confrontational about it, of course; just completely honest about how you are feeling. If his comments are hurtful, say so.
  
  If you want to lose weight, tell him you have trouble with diets and try to find a healthy solution between the two of you. Exercise and balanced eating is better than dieting, in any case.
  
  If you are happy with your body the way it is, then say so - if he truly loves you, he should be able to respect that.
  
  Whatever you choose to do, both you and your husband should strive to maintain a loving harmony in the household - especially for the sake of your children. If that isn’t possible you may wish to re-examine your relationship as Nude Clooney suggests.

  I like these sorts of questions. I also admit to a perverse fascination with people’s responses to these sorts of questions.
  
  Xeno Dragon…you’re absolutely right. There isn’t much I can add, as you’ve summed it up nicely.
  
  Here’s what I *can* contribute:
  
  Silverwings, I’m certain your heart’s in the right place. I know you only want to help and enlighten people. It’s very noble, and I commend the devoutness of your faith.
  
  A person’s faith is very personal, as I’m sure you can attest - therefore you must approach the subject of faith very carefully. By all means, share your own with others, or with the world if you choose…but you must take care to learn with whom you are speaking, and to tailor your approach to that person. To believe that you can speak to everyone the same way, without the need to respect them as individuals with individual thoughts, feelings and choices, is to commit the sin of pride. ;)

  Expectations are beliefs. Values are desires.
  
  Both are reflections of the individual psyche, both are highly relative and subject to change.
  
  Values define what we want from our experience. Expectations define the experience we believe we will have. Validation or negation of either will, in turn, either solidify or reshape said values and expectations.

  It’s decreasing. People are learning how to find their own answers on the Net, rather than asking others. I think the iPhone phenomenon has a lot to do with that.

  It’s a search engine. A very comprehensive one which disturbs people because it doesn’t place moral or ethical concern on what it does…you can find ANYTHING, regardless of how sick or depraved.
  
  Should we be mad at Google for not protecting us? After all, they aren’t holding a gun to our heads and making us look for ‘2 girls 1 cup’ or some such.
  
  Responsibility lies with the individual. Google provides a service, and they link to more sites than most other engines; thus they have become a sort of ‘industry standard’. How else are we going to find sites in a context-related fashion?
  
  (Actually, I think personalized ‘ferret’ programs are going to eventually become popular. But they’ll still need a database(s) of sites to search through, right?)

  Well said, Richard. The only experiences we might lack in an Infinite context are finite ones…hence, we have the concept of ‘physical reality’ within which we have those experiences.
  
  No experience is ever forced on an individual. How could it be? While forms are decidedly temporary, essence is universal and Infinite; therefore you’d be forcing yourself, which is an absurdity. Ideas of ‘pleasant’ and ‘unpleasant’, ‘pain’ and ‘joy’, ‘good’ and ‘bad’ are just that - abstract concepts. Experience carries with it no values or judgments beyond those we assign.
  
  Of course, if you want to get really metaphysical, an ‘individual’ is an assemblage of concepts too. Very complex, very detailed, labyrinthine to be certain…but still just a great big concept reflecting the Infinity from which it came.
  
  We are simultaneously creation and Creator.
