Everyone feels the way you do at some point. Some people experience it for longer periods of time, and some shorter. I know you feel frustrated with life at times because things aren’t the way you wish they were but I’m sure there was a time when you were happy. You may need to see a doctor about it but as was stated above anti-depressants do have side effects but if you feel that there is no other way to feel happy and normal again than that may be what is in your best interests.

I share the same problem. Mine is because I cook for a living. I love food and I love cooking even more but if I rarely sit down and enjoy a meal. I’ve trained myself to just eat very small portions throughout the day because in a restaurant you just pick things off the line. I doubt thats why your having a lack of appetite but possibly this could offer some insight.

I myself am in the food service industry. If there is a local bakery or even just a little cafe near you, try getting a job there. You have an almost granted job because your attending culinary school. Most employees in the industry are luck to have a high school diploma. I’m not sure if you’d feel this work is beneath you but it may be good for you to “test the waters”. I can speak from the other side of the looking glass, working in the food service industry is not all its cracked up to be. Its very fast paced, high stress, long hours, little pay, a lot of drug addicts(because its so easy to get a job and there aren’t any drug tests), you work holidays/nights/weekends and it doesn’t take long to burn out. Even if you own your own place, %98 of the restaurant owners I know spend their whole life there. If you want your store run right than you gotta do it yourself.
As a kid and growing up thats all I wanted to do myself but after a few years of working in the field I want to do ANY thing else. I’m not trying to ruin your dreams but do yourself a favor and make sure you understand what working in the industry is like before you just jump into it because you like to cook. You can get a desk job working 9-5 making a hell of a lot more and feed you passion for food at home.
I understand you want to satisfy people with something that you have worked on and made from scratch by hand but there are other ways to satisfy people as well.

Its good to dream though. I never studied psychology… I learned about that in English class in high school. :) We were learning about character(not the kind you find in a story) to help us outline “Of Mice and Men”. I appreciate your compliment.
