I know how you feel, Crazy.Firework. I used to be the same way, there was a “popular” group at school that I was sort of in, but not quite. (I was friendly with all of them, but I never felt like I belonged there, you know?) I tried so hard to act like them so they would like me, but I realized that the boy-crazy, airhead girl I was pretending to be…well, it wasn’t me at all. So I started acting more like myself, and while I was (at first) classified as a weirdo, they accepted me for who I was, and enjoyed my company a whole lot more.

And I know that it sounds cliche, but if you just be yourself, your friends will love you. If they don’t, they aren’t worth your time. You’re a great person, so let it all out! :)

And Sound_of_solo, that sounds terrible…I’m so sorry that this happened to you. :( I would’ve thought the same thing if I was in your situation, actually. The only difference here is that I’m the girl, and my mom isn’t letting me date yet—and I’ve made it perfectly clear to him that we can only be friends.

But thank you very much for your answer, that was absolutely fantastic…and the absolute right thing to do. :)

I myself would go with the Nano, it’s very cute and I really don’t WATCH my iPod. :P

(Of course, this is coming from a girl who has an iPod mini that her sister took from her ex-boyfriend, with his permission.)

I think you should go with them—but if they actually start to egg the house, leave, and suggest they do the same. Gargoyle said what I was about to say in much better words. :P

Just start by being friendly to everyone. Say hi to people you know well enough in the halls, they’ll reciprocate. If there’s someone who’s in one of your classes, ask them about it. Little conversations go a long way. :)

Wow, it sounds like you have a lot on your mind…and it’s okay to be upset. If your mom won’t let you go to therapy, maybe a school counselor could help you out. It doesn’t matter who, just ANYONE you can open up to. And hey, if you need a friend, we’re always here to listen. :)

If you guys are friends, I don’t think they’ll mind at all if you called them! In fact, I guarantee they miss you terribly and want to keep in touch. And as Anonymous said, it would be tough to keep up with them all—try to stay close to, well, your closest Iowa friends. :)

The Ring. I was about eight when the movie came out, and my sister was eleven— “Oh Savannah, come see it, it’s the coolest movie ever!” I don’t believe I slept at all that night…

Of course, I watched it the next day (she had an obsession)…and I was fine. :P
