  Female Addicts have a different personality. They often accuse the boyfriend, husband of things they didnt do and treat them as though they did it. In any given hour, they can be as kind and compassionate as anyone could wish for. The next hour they are in a rage for no apparent reason. Always questions about your work environment and women that you work with.
  I had a wonderful girlfriend that I did not know was an addict. Eventually it came to be common knowledge and it was at that point that our visit to her M.D.’s office resulted in her having to go to a detox center. She did well throughout the detox with residual drug problems. She began going to meetings in NA and became involved with another man. She swore it was talking on the phone and nothing more. She later admitted that she was sexually attracted to him and he continued calling her dispite my concern. As it turned out, his focal point was getting her to go to bed with him. She knew this, yet continued talking to him on the phone. It is safe to say that she was in agreement with his desire. Not long after this, NA had a “meeting ” at a hotel that was to take place over a weekend. I was told it was “closed” only to find out ( once again ) that it was not. They had a dance that night and she promised that she and her sponser were not going to attend. I was out of town and found out that not only did they stay for the dance til 1:30 am, I was unable to talk with her til that Monday. She didnt answer the phone Sunday and Sunday night. I finally came to the conclusion that she had met someone, perhaps the same man, and spent the weekend with him. I have not seen her since and she has not bothered to call me. After six years and being commited, she turned into someone I do not know. I still Love Her very much but I can not be involved with this sort of behavior. Her children will eventually find out the truth, which is a big concern. How will they deal with their Mother having sex with some guy that lives in a halfway house. The mental stress this has caused is sometimes overwhelming but the only course of action I can take is to get as far away from her as I can and never look back. An addict will mentally ruin the most well grounded person and the addict will enjoy every moment.
