I learned to tolerate those with obvious mental disabilities (Elmo).

Caffeine raises your metabolism temporarily, which causes you to burn slightly more calories.
It also suppresses your appetite so you may eat less.
When it wears off, though, your blood sugar falls, causing a craving for carbohydrates. If you give in, it may cancel out the weight loss effects.
