  Since you are gong to see a psychologist it will be a perfectly safe to bring something like that up. However, I would privately ask the doctor when this matter should be brought up and make sure you ask inprivate. Assuming this is you first meeting with this psychologist, he/she will probably just want to get to know each of you individually first then observe you as mother and daughter to see how you interact. Remember, if you want to tell the doctor something in private they are bound by a code of ethics not to disclose anything to anyone with out your permission unless they feel you are a danger to yourself or someone else. I hope this helps you understand. Realize that things like this do not get fixed in one visit to a doctor. Sometimes it takes years to fix problems. Even though it is difficult right now consider this a test of your love for one another. If you two make it through this with your mother on good terms it was meant to be.

  Look at Raytheon, Lockeed Martin, and NASA. They are always looking for people to help develop the latest in avionics, navigation, and weapons systems. One of my students was in the same situation going into college, now he works with NASA on the international space station. Pretty exciting stuff if you ask me
