2009-04-15 20:20:23 on I’m thinking about starting my own business in sales.
Suppose i did do this “hookah” business. Wouldn’t I look strange making a store that’s normally coined as an Indian thing, when I’m both white and female. I speak English, which is a main concern since most people (at least at first) visiting my hookah bar will be non-English speakers. Also, how do I convince my very conservative town that it’s NOT a pot smoking place?

Wht do you think will be?
Curious minds would like to know ;)
2009-04-15 17:58:40 on I’m starting to get really freaking pissed.
I meant made-up words, phrases, or names of things most often found in a fantasy novel.

Actually, point to the middle of nowhere on a map and sit on the grassy hill or embankment there and you will see that which you have written.
2009-04-15 17:55:35 on I am writing this to you as a final resort.
Is it possible that your family could get welfare of some sort? I know it’s not exactly what y’all had in mind to raise your kids with, but you might at least try.

Does your word processor allow you to save your “text” doc as over 40 different dot suffixes so that each separate manuscript can be read on multiple platforms? Does it have cross-compatibility with every single other computer on the market or older than market? Does it allow you to personalize your writing experience with editable spell-checking and grammar controls, so that every time you type a word you know is spelled correctly (most necessary in a fantasy novel), the stupid spell-check doesn’t tell you it’s spelled wrong or creates an “unknown” grammatical error? Hmm?

Why can’t you use Notepad? I know it’s not as “pretty”, but it works just fine as a tool for text entry.
(Sorry for the weird suggestion, but I’m a writer, too and I use a Mac. We don’t have these problems.)
Please, almighty mac user, enlighten us as to how having a Mac is a benefit for writers, I’m genuinely curious as to what you will come up with.
It really depends upon what you write, actually. Are they pop-up picture books or baby-teething books… or are you a (quote) serious writer (unquote) who can’t possibly imagine that one word processor is much different from the next?

You’ve got to be kidding me? With all the different restaurants to choose from, there’s no way someone could make a lucrative business from it. Especially when there are huge chains popping up everywhere putting the little guys out of business. Don’t get me wrong, I know how to cook (and do very well), but I just don’t see it as a long-term growth opportunity.
2009-04-15 17:38:42 on How can i tell if am in an abusive relationship?
1. Do you think you are? We can’t tell you if you are or not unless there’s more info, but human intuition is generally right. Especially in these cases.
2. Many common abuse types fall under 4 main categories. Mental, physical, emotional, and extortion.
a) Mental abuse is when you feel so stressed by the situation that it completely alters your daily life. You start to feel uneasy around the person, worried, or even scared. Often the person will have threatened you, a loved one, or your pet in some manner to make you have this problem. Controlling your actions and/or people you talk to is also mental abuse.
b) Physical abuse is the most obvious to the naked eye. When someone hits you, touches you or puts you in an uncomfortable position, it’s generally considered physical abuse. Sexual abuse cases are listed under physical abuse.
c) Emotional abuse generally goes hand-in-hand with mental abuse. Severe long-term mental abuse can make you depressed, suicidal, or down-right crazy. Once it gets to this point, you’ve got a decently bad case of emotional abuse.
d) Finally, there’s extortion. We all know what extortion does to people. When you threaten to do harm or destroy someone else’s credibility or life by doing something in your power to destroy them with, you’re being an extortionist. This has just recently been added to the list of major abuse topics.
If you fall under any of these, ten-to-one you’re in an abusive relationship.
2009-04-15 17:24:41 on I need “Class of 2000″ help please!
Actually figured this one out, too thanks to a good friend of mine. The song I was looking for was “Everybody’s Free To Wear Sunscreen” by Baz Luhrmann… LOL… it’s not really a song when you hear it, is it?

2009-04-15 17:11:11 on I Desperately Need This Movie’s Title!
I found it! Finally I found it and apparently it’s quite a rare movie. It’s called “Ben Wagner”, and was released as a family movie from HBO in the early 90’s (when radio controlled airplanes were the coolest, most expensive thing you could buy your kid).

Come on now! 9 views and no one can answer me? All I want to know is what kinds of things you’ve been buying lately… (besides groceries and diapers)

2009-04-15 16:57:30 on I heard a rumor about a country 50 miles south of Africa where they drown people for making grammar mistakes(according to their language).
Think about it. Put your mouse on the map at the left of the screen. Pull the image around to the southern tip of Africa. Do you see an island (or a country for that matter) anywhere near 50 miles South of Africa? No. That’s why no one believes it.
