Really, INFJ?? After you’re reply to my “Christmas dinner”, I thought for sure you were an INTP actually. You just seem like more of a Thinker and a Feeler.
Locke Computer Help Again! Sorry for this. On my old computer (XP SP2, Intel P4, 1GB RAM)
When running it I found when i pressed CTRL + LSHIFT + ESC & opened teh Task Manager I have TWO explorer.exe, not iexplorer.exe (which is Internet Exp).
I did a search for my Hard Drive and found these:
*explorer - C:\WINDOWS = Looks like a computer icon
*explorer - C:\WINDOWS = a search folder icon.
*EXPLORER.EXE-0546907 - C:\WINDOWS\Prefetch = No Icon
*Windows Explorer - C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\Start Menu\Programs\Accessories = Shortcut Icon.
I googled for help, all of which think it’s a virus BUT i can’t seem to find ANY SORTA way to delete such a thing, & AV won’t pick nothing up. I can end task both the explorer.exe
The only downside to an AMD processor is indeed that it runs hotter than an Intel. While it’s possible to run using only a heatsink, overheating is very likely (not at all a good thing) and I’m not sure why you’d want to. Most computers have at a minimum a heatsink with a fan sitting on top of it (heatsink is the slotted metal device the fan is typically bolted to).
If noise is your concern, you can buy powerful and quiet CPU fans. I’d keep the fans on and your CPU cool. I think there are actually high-performance heatsinks that don’t strictly speaking need a fan, but why pay for one when what you’ve got is working? And should you get one, why leave the fan off?
To summarize, yes, it’s most likely possible to run with only a high-performance heatsink (your current one probably won’t suffice) but I’d just keep the fan; the benefits to going heatsink-only are negligible and not worth any effort or expenditure on your part.
I am wanting to change my computer hardware abit but, i am not sure, i’ve read on a few forums this method & some say it’s a great idea, and some say your crazy to try it.
What i want to do is, instead of fans i use Heatsinks for my CPU? is that possible? I don’t want to use that water cooling thing, I’ve gotten a friend whos great at putting computers together as he did mine last time, soo im fine with the hardware part.
Just a computer without any sorta fans? is it possible? & where could i get to see one (example) and is it a good idea?
Current processor is a AMD, and i heard they can blow up if too hot.
Thanks Though, BTW Do you know any Good Registry Viewers? Because when Windows Registry Editor when i search for something, & when it reaches a key full of sub keys it doesn’t highlight the key that it is currently showing… Something like RegAylzer, but with the possibilities to delete keys?
Hey Locke, since your the man of helping me, I hope it’s alright if i shout you my problems…
K Today when i looked at My Computer>System Tools>Event*>System, i noticed Two Errors…
The WinFast CX2388x WDM Video Capture.
The WinFast CX2388x WDM Crossbar
My questions is, how do i fix this? I might be missing the smallest thing here, I have done the basic checks (updated driver… rollback… all that) But i feel I’m doing something wrong…
