it’s great to learn, just remember it is a process..and sometimes part of it is to learn an entire way of thinking just to be able to discard it for the next.
actually, that IS the key to learning, because you can never explain something, even to yourself, till you understand all the false arguments against it.
Put that in a report for extra credit…and remember it is a process..you WILL learn something later that totally and logically contridicts what you learned today.
THIS WAS MY ANSWER TO ANOTHER POST, BUT IT IS WHAT I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO PUT INTO WORDS
then you will Love the book I recommended, ha ha..his Fiction is great, his technical prose(?) is very dry..or very outlandish, depending on the subject..if you read the whole book, you can see that this persons views on, say, Atomic power changed DRASTICALLY from 1950 to 1970..but yet, he was able to make convinving arguments from

if you have the patience, and the desire, find a way to copy this shouttrail…save it..look at it in even 5 years..that is the only thing I know to say.
the perspective will change, and you WILL, if you are as intellegent as you try to sound, see what I am talking about, but there is no way to see it now..
It is like asking a man from the 1200’s to describe the dark side of the moon.
I do not believe the knowledge I possess is in anyway less subject to the scrutiny of the scientific method.
My lack of comprehension of your shouts have more to do with differences of mental focus.
In respects to these past three years, knowledge is the same as it has always been. And I’ve been a compulsive reader since I was a child. I don’t think the knowledge I gained in recent years as considerably larger. Though the rate is pretty damn quick.
there you go..because you have learned more (or more accuratly been exposed to more knowledge) in the last three years than you have in the previous 16 or so, you seem to belive that A. there is not much you either do not know or cannot figure out yourself and B. That the knowledge you have gained is somehow less curruptible than the knowledge others have gained..somehow more correct.
now this is pretty clear, as was my last statement, but since, for you, a core issue is your belief in your own intellectual superiority (not an insult, this is a natural stage), you cannot see it.
I don’t quite understand your statement. I don’t see any distinction to what you call mimicking and learning. I understand there is a difference in value attributed to each one, by people. But in truth they are equals.
In ten years, what will happen? Completion of the immortal method? What then. I don’t get it, it all seems the same to me.
no way to explain the third year thing..no matter how I try to explain, it will sound, to you, as the subject, insulting..suffice to say, in 10 years or so, you will know EXACTLY what i mean, and will chuckle about it.
as for left to learn, by the age of 60, most humans have just learned HOW to learn..before that we just learn how to mimic.
but you see, I have been meditating since i was taught by a Taoist named Doug when I was 13..I am 35 now, and so forth and so on, yada yada..I have so much more to learn.
I just checked out who you are (past member) AH HA..well, at least I got third year right..should have left it at “third year college, right?” then i could feel all justified.
no offense but I gotta ask..3rd year college student, Majoring in Psychology ?
am I even close…be honest.
please do not be offended, as this is in no way an insult.
but you can always tell the book learning from the real life learning..we tend to stop using the fancy words after a few years of making the people receiving therapy feel inadequate.
