  actually, to quote any copyrighted material without permission is not legal. Mentioning a band name or song title is one thing, but quoting lyrics without permission can land your fanny in court.

  I do understand how you feel. Last year we lost 2 close family members, were in a car accident, and were informed that my husband’s brain cancer had returned. This year we are trying to remember that they are with Christ on this celebration of his birthday. Tears are OK, but lower the expectations for a “perfect” holiday. I had to do that, and everything has been easier. Remember that keeping the CHRIST in Christmas is key

  my daughters and I discussed your problem, and they came up with a few ideas. Girls usually like stuffed animals, especially if they are really soft. flowers are always nice, as is jewlery. If she is into music and has an i-pod or MP3, you might try a pre-paid music download card at i-tunes,best buy or even walmart.

  An hour massage is always an especially thoughtful gift. My son gave me a gift certificate for one that I used after the Holidays to get rid of all the tension caused by Holiday stress and tension. It was the best gift I have ever been given, because it was something I wouldn’t have done for myself and it showed that my son saw me and the stress I was feeling and was willing to lighten my load.
  Another gift I really enjoyed was a night out with my husband. He rented a cottage complete with fireplace, stocked snacks, got a sitter over night and spent the entire night focused on us. Your time is a great gift.

  go to recalls.gov and look to see if there is a recall on your car. Sounds like a problem my son’s friend had with his Jetta. If it is on recall, the VW corporation is responsible for any repairs, injuries, and damage. Give it a shot.
