• Hypothetically, if one year Christmas suddenlly was a non-event, absent from everyones minds, what would happen to the economy?
  

  I would say it would have a huge impact on the economy. Christmas has become so materialistic everyone seems to feel the need to buy buy buy. Stores often depend on the year end sales for Christmas to bump up overall sales for the year. it wouldnt suprize me if christmas time constituted the majority of sales throughout the year.
  
  I’m a Christain and I dont really buy things for the holidays. But this idea, although impossible, sounds good to me. sure it would hurt the economy. but really do we need all this ’stuff’ its missing the point of Christmas.

  what is it in your life that you feel the need to cut for? what are you trying to distract yourself from?
  
  i was a cutter for years. and still resort to the desire to cut sometimes. however, infrequently it is still not the right way to deal with things.

• Dog Question: My little heeler (Aussie cattle dog)was born in June to an abusive owner.
  

  not that dogs and cats are the same. but i got a cat from a highly abusive situation. and dispite playing with him and giving him lots of love and affection. he still cowares and slings and hides and i’ve had him three years. in fact he sleeps next to me and my husband every night. but almost everyone i know doesnt think i have a cat. because no one ever sees him.
  
  So anyways, just play with her and give her treats and spend lots of time with her. but know that she may or may not be able to overcome the abuse from the past.

  I think it may be all in perspective. maybe your life isnt over but this can be a new begining.
  
  based on this response you’d probably think i was an optimist, which isnt the case generally.
  
  Anyways, what does your girlfriend want to do? Take sometime and support her and talk though what you want to do about this life changing event. Also, if you think your worried she probably is doubly so. so get off the computer and lean on eachother for this.
