Hi. I was leaving a shout for an old friend who helped my out here on help and I couldn’t help but notice your shout to him (candp). It sounds like you have some story. If you don’t mind I like to here about it sometime.Depression strikes a lot of us and Docs just don’t seem to realize how paralyzing it can be and how much one can lose. Well, thanks for your time.
I survived; barely, but I survived. It is always a struggle with her family because I’m convinced her mother thinks I’m a weak idiot, and her father thinks I’m a ball-less man (especially in comparison with her last boyfriend).
Anyway, if the problem is your home, but you can’t move out yet, than just make everything about getting to that point. Even if it’s a few years until it comes, just concentrate on your work and your psych degree, and then on putting it to work. When “now” isn’t so great, just work on making “then” come a little quicker.
How is your councilor schooling coming? Are you in classes now, or have you put them off for a little bit?
Woops, hit the shout button before I wanted to:
…Right now I’m getting ready to go out to dinner with Kaylee and her father, and I’m feeling a little stressed about it. I always have to put on a show when I’m with her parents because they are very conservative and I am very liberal.
I’ll be in late tonight, but if you shout me, I’ll get a response to you for the morning :) hope you’re doing better.
That is horrible that you have to live like that. Have you and Andy talked about possibly getting your own place?
I hope everything with your family get’s better. It has to make it harder considering your Granddad hasn’t been feeling well. I suggest just going through the motions until everything works itself out: get up, go to work, come home, relax, have sex with Andy (do that twice if it’d help), relax some more, go to bed. Planned routine usually helps me through hard times.
Right now I’m getting ready to go out to dinner with Kaylee and her father, and I’m feeling a little stressed about it.
I am really sorry Ell, that sounds terrible. It does seem like a big deal to me, just because I come from an extended family of about 500 and I love them all, so I can’t understand why your mother would do something that severe. I mean, did she have any kind of reasoning behind it? I mean, unless you beat her repeatedly, I don’t really see a reason to leave you with no food and than talk bad about you to your whole family.
You know, my closest friend grew up in a terribly abusive home, and I’ll tell you the same thing that I tell her; The fact that you grew up in such a difficult home, and became such a wonderful person, makes you that much more incredible to know.
Now me, being Mr. Brightside, would just like add some silver-lining; with your mom and dad gone, you and Andy should just go crazy in every room in the house ;)
funny, when you are younger, its easy to avoid. But the politics over here are directly affecting my business..poor L, no food, and no car. Whats next? look, you treat yourself to a nice dinner tonight, and a cab ride too…are they called loories? or something like that?
I’m really sorry you’re having such a bad day, please please vent to me tomorrow if you feel the need. Ever since I’ve discovered that I now have a fellow sexy geek as a friend, I’ve been pretty happy lol. I really hope everything is alright.
On that note, I’d also check out SPORE if I were you. You get to create a creature out of thousands of possibilities, and than follow the species from micro-organism level, all the way into space travel.
I’m fine I think, I’ll be sleeping at least 12 hours tonight. I haven’t been sleeping very well just because my roommate snore pretty loud. In response I’ve take to throwing shoes at him if he gets too loud. It has proven to be pretty effective lol.
ya me too! saw did get shit after they sold out to hollywood after the first one though :/
and this ones rather hard to watch, its the worst online copy ive ever seen lol. the camera is like, moving up and down as the filmer breathes hehe
well, at the moment im living with my boyfriend here in seattle, but when i get back to New Zealand ill be staying with mum untill i move back up north for school in february. then ill be back int he dorms, woop!
i move around a lot hehe.
im watching Saw V right now. its rather effed up :S
dood, that sucks :S
i was working till recently, ive been in outdoor education for 6 years, working with young adults. i just finished a degree in Psychology. so i took some time off, and went to thailand, and now im in the states for 3 months visiting my boyfriend, coz i have another hard slog of 5 years at school starting february :S
My favorite C&C was Red Alert 2, but I’ve played the newest one recently and it’s the exact same thing. Build up a complex military barracks, focus on mining and power supply, throw in a couple super “I will destroy you with one button push” weapons. There aren’t as many playable countries, but the one’s you can play are so different that it’s fun trying to decide which I’m best with.
I have played Civilization Revolution, and if you like that than I think you’d really like Black & White 2. It’s the same set up and look, but it literally makes you your people’s God, and depending on how much you please them depends on how much they worship you.
Anyway, I got about 23 minutes of actual sleep last night, so I need to take a really long and cold shower, and hopefully make it through classes without passing out lol.
See, it all depends on why you like the tycoon games? Whether its because you like the premise of the game, or you just like the set up of the games. If you like the set-up of the games, where you can build things up as much as you want and then just let them crash down (which is always the fun part) than I’d keep an eye out for the Sims 3 and I’d take a look at the new SPORE game (which is a lot of fun).
If you’re like me, and you like the premise of the games, than I’d look at Total War. Honestly, I like being in control when I’m playing a game. Probably because I feel so helpless in life all the time, but in the games I’m basically a god and can do anything I want. This leads me to play any strategy/simulation game I can.
Total War games take a 300 year period of time in history, and put you in the head of one of the countries. I love it, because it is amazingly historically accurate, incredibly complex, and really really pretty lol. You play primarily over looking a big map, and controlling all your cities from religion to farming to trade to diplomacy to army formation. And when you actually fight someone else it takes to you a battle field where you can control your troops. Its basically a really good way to feel smart and in control.
Anyway, some games that I’ve tried that I like that are simulation/strategy:
Warcraft
Starcraft
SPORE
Black & White
Rome: Total War
Medieval II: Total War
Command & Conquer series
I swear I’m not too big a video game nerd. I can promise I’d never dress up as my favorite video game character and I only play an hour or so every few days.
Anyway, hope you had a good Sunday, hope your Granddad is ok (I’ll be prayin for him), and I hope you make it through work tomorrow without any sort of problems.
So the price of a fun night is a nauseating headache the next morning…doesn’t’ seem fair to me lol.
My night was fun up until two of my friends decided to fight each other in the middle of our college courtyard, and than they both walked off angry while they were smashed. So a lot of the night was spent trying to find one of them to make sure he wasn’t dead somewhere.
As far as computer games go, I actually prefer playing COD4 on the computer, it just feels better to me. But I have to say my favorite computer games are strategy and simulation games. I started with Warcraft when I was little and loved it, and moved on to everything from Roller Coaster Tycoon to the Total War series (which are my favorite games now).
So here is my short list:
Medieval II: Total War
COD4
Hitman
Civilization
Crysis
Since I don’t work while I’m at school, I have no way of getting new games, but I’m fairly entertained with the ones I have already.
no.. sadly i gave all my fat jeans away…. but more reason to go on a shopping spree… hehehehehe..
as for my tests.. im not sure yet.. i do know that i had the x rays and it shows that the rubber bands are still in there 2 days later… which they were suppose to be gone.. so..
yes.. im so excited.. you never know how big you are until you double your original size… ugh.. last year, i was a size 10.. and since they took my regular med off the market… i am slowly gaining and gaining and am now a size 12/13 but they are tight… and i remember being that size 20 and that is not something i want ever again.. i want to be a comfortable size 6 or 7… i dont need to be that size 3 ever again… but half of what i am now…
so how was your vacation? hope it was tons of fun… missed you too.. want to hear all about it.. do you feel rested?
many hugs…. love shie.
Ohhhhh you hadn’t gone to bed yet! You naughty girl! I thought maybe you’d gotten up early… at the very least, by the time you read this shout… I’ll be in bed (WAYYY before 1AM)… so I’ll still wish you a GREAT DAY! :)
~Rich
SO I just wrote a response to that diddles girl on your rant post. Im kinda dr4unk again, so if it sounds weird, I’l try to decipher it tomrrow for you. I’m really happy your back ell!
*sorry I meant to send thing a while ago, but was kind of drunk*
pfft, I’m a college procrastinator, of course I play. Unfortunately, as a college student I don’t have the money to pay for an Xbox or the games, but I mooch off of friends whenever I can. Love COD4, and Gears of War, so you have good taste there.
I’m more of a computer games guy, but I like the TV consoles too. I love Civilization and all games like it, so all in all, I approve of your list lol.
I’m gonna go get a drink with some friends, but its really great to have you back, shout me whenever you can tomorrow!
You don’t want to know. It’s a long story! We’d be here until the cows would came home! That’s a pretty long time! One day I will make a post about it, in portions, so I can actually post the whole thing! OK? Right now I’m glad you’re doing fine!
I so understand, but sometimes we need to shut up and let others see their own mistakes. Sometimes it does us some good to become observers for a while. In time they will see how valuable you are! :) Whatever you do, don’t allow anyone to squash your spirt or passion.
I hope they make another season, too many shows I like get canceled after one.
So tell me, I know you don’t play as much as Andy, but what games do you like on Xbox. It is very rare to find a girl that likes any videogames, so I’m curious lol.
I completely understand. Although I love my new teaching job, I find it hard not to point out the many flaws in the structure. I am finding that I am being a little to out spoken for a new person, but things are just not the way they need to be to serve our students in the manner they deserve. The Principal did ask me to be apart of an elite committee at school that makes decisions for the whole school, which I didn’t volunteer for and others that did were turned down, so sometime been outspoken pays off. However, I am feeling like I too should try to be a little more observant and quiet for a while. I learned a while back that not everyone is going to like me, but as long as I know my intentions are good and that I think through my decisions it is ok. I find I am the type of person that people either adore or get annoyed by. I would say at my current job people seem to enjoy my enthusiasm, but I can see there are a few who might not appreciate it.
Remember your enthusiasm is what makes you wonderful, but it scares and intimidates some people. Try to remember that you may make others feel stupid and inferior with your intelligence, passion, and drive, so be sensitive to how you present yourself.
I’m dealing with some stuff right now. It’s nothing I cannot handle. I am so glad you are doing well. It makes me happy to see you doing well. Love ya! Keep me in mind if you think I can cheer you up! OK?
I just looked it up, and I had no idea that Life on Mars was originally a UK program. They’ve only aired 3 episodes of the US version and so far I really like it.
And yes, you are right, NCIS is definitely the best. Gibbs is awesome, and Ziva and Tony are hysterical together. The new series has already aired in the US, I won’t tell you anything that’s happening, but it is pretty awesome.
What’s with the “Pants”? lol
