  The problem with “proving” God exist’s is what someone will accept as proof. In this case, what would seem an obvious miracle, another person would just call a change of heart. One person may call something an answered prayer and another would call it something that would have happened anyway. I have had many discussions on what constitutes “proof” and it seems almost impossible to pin someone down on anything other than God standing there in person and explaining it Himself. If you show someone a photograph, they will say “yes, there was a photographer”, if you show someone a building they will say “yes, there was a builder”, but when you show someone creation, they say “there is no such thing as a creator”. To me, it defies all reasonable logic. Creation itself should be sufficient proof that God exists.

  Once I met this girl who I thought at the time was absolutly gorgeous. So very carefully I found out the kinds of things she like to do and I started doing them even though I wasn’t very interested in those things. I managed to get her attention and eventually was able to go out with her. The problem was we never really “clicked” because the person I was with her was not the real me so I could really have the kind of fun I wanted to because we were so different. It wasn’t her fault, she was drawn to a “fake” me. Someone with the same interests as her. If I had never tried to impress her and had just been the real me, we would have never dated and never had to break up. When your true to yourself, your always who you really are, the “real” you, and someone who is interested in the same things will be drawn to that “real” you and when your together you can always be you.

  Love is when your grandchild is crying and nobody can get then to be quiet until you walk into the room and suddenly they stop crying and start smiling. Love is that joy you feel at that moment when you realize that all they really wanted was you. I think that is how God feels when when finally turn to Him.

  How does that expression go? “Fools go where wise men fear to tread” That is the way we are today, people have no fear of “going” anywhere, we broach any subject, we have no respect for ourselves much less each other, there is no such thing as the sanctity of human life, we murder babies in the womb and try to decide if the elderly or mentally handicaped person has the right to life based on their societal value. We look down on others because they do not live up to our standards, and label them inferior. We have fallen far from our intended place as Gods highest creation. Sorry, I’ll come down off of my soap box now.

  My two cents worth. I would like to both condemn and defend some of what has been said here. First - condemnation, there is a simple test of true Christianity, if the love of Christ is not in someone, they are not Christians. Many people define themselves as christians and the fact is they are not. I have seen very hateful comments by “christians”, and those comments are CLEAR indication that they are not really christian at all. I would ask those of us who claim the name “christian” take the time to truly study Christ’s example, how He interacted with others, the respect He always showed others including those who did not treat Him with respect, and before you say anything, either here or anywhere else, decide if Jesus would say something like that. Second - defense, even a dog defends his master when he is attacked. I would ask those who are not christians, realise that those of us who are christians, see God as our father and we simply want Him treated with respect and when He is ridiculed in most cases it is a knee-jerk response when we try to defend our beliefs.

• I really do not know what to do, my brother has put my parents in debt and they don’t realize that they are losing there home soon.
  

  My prayers are with you. Do not underestimate what God has in store for your parents, it is in the most difficult times that God works the greatest miracles. Do all you can, Silverwings gave you some great websites, but do not loose faith that God is in control.
