  It’s hard to know what your boyfriend is truly like. Cell says that he sounds like a loser, but this may not be the case. Or maybe it is. Your love for him could be based upon the fact that compared to how others have treated you in the past, he treats you much better, even though it is still not exemplary. Having said that, maybe he is a good person, but he just doesn’t understand fully why you are the way that you are, and he just sees it as being over jealous and ’slightly annoying’.
  
  I think the only way to know is to sit down with him, arrange a time where you know you are both free and not rushing to do anything or be anywhere, maybe order take out or cook a nice meal, and talk about your past. Explain why you feel the way you do, and that you love him more than anything but you can’t help feeling ‘jealous’ or ‘__________’ or whatever. Explain that he needs to make allowances for this by ‘_______________’ (I’m not sure what you could say here, maybe by including you in what he does, and instead of reacting to the jealousy by not showing you things as he doesn’t need to prove he has nothing to hide, actually showing you his interactions with others occasionally and letting you in on his daily life). Im sure you can think of other ways he can help.
  
  If he says he’s not willing to make allowances or to help, DITCH HIM. Because then he’s not worth it. If he truly loves you, he will fight to understand your past and what you have been through and how he can help.

  people said hurtful things? So what. Who cares. This is pathetic. Do you know how you stop being sad? You stop reveling in the emotion, and look around you and realise you actually have it pretty good, and you SMILE. Smile, and just have fun. Whatever is making you sad, ditch it from your life. Just smile and go crazy. Who gives a duck really. No one. If you’re sad, go out for a run and don’t decide where you are going. Just run and run and run and find a complete stranger, and give them a hug. Or stay up late and go outside and look at the stars. Do something. Don’t just sit at a computer talking about how sad you are to complete strangers. Only YOU can make yourself happy. We can’t do a single thing for you. And it is surprisingly shockingly easy to make yourself happy. If you sit there and smile for two minutes, and allow yourself to think of something happy, you will be happy. You have probably grown so attached to being ’sad’ that you just don’t even bother trying to make yourself happy anymore. Grow a pair of balls, smile, throw caution to the wind, go out there and be random, and appreciate the fact that ANYTHING can happen, and you have the power to make it happen if you want. Just go DO IT

  I thought that it was another one of those pathetic notes saying ‘because you have read this, an evil clown will come to you in your sleep and shave your hair off while also gouging out your eyeballs’….or something similiar. And they always give me a laugh so I thought I’d have a look.

  Find out about her. Ask her about herself. What movies she likes, music, food, anything. Let her know you are interested in HER. She will feel very flattered. You are bound to find out that you have SOMETHING in common. And then you can naturally talk about that. And if you are in the same school/college/work place (delete as appropriate!), you can talk about that. If you are shy, and get really nervous, actually write down a list of topics before hand and read them over. This may sound stupid and over prepared, but it can help calm your nerves knowing that if you do start to get nervous and shy, you have a sort of “plan” to recover the situation.
  
  And just be yourself. Talk about what you would talk about with a good friend. If she doesn’t appreciate that, then she isn’t worth it! :D

  It’s fairly ok now. I tried calling my doctor, but it gave me another number to call which directed me to calling an ambulance, which I didn’t need. So we rang the hospital to see if they new a doctor on call and they said to just come in. They did a bunch of tests and in the end just gave me 5 different antibiotics. Apparently my white blood cell count was high which shows I am fighting an infection. And they gave me something for the pain. I have another scan to morrow to check something, but I feel 90% better. I’m just hoping I don’t get worse again. Thanks for all your help guys!

  Your description of what you want in a girlfriend is exactly what I’ve spent my life looking for in a boyfriend. I’m 24, and I’ve only had two boyfriends, neither which lasted more than a few weeks as they just didn’t fit the description I ultimately held dear to myself. Hopefully you and I are lucky some time soon! Religious, doesn’t drink, doesn’t smoke….tough to find these days!

• I feel like people expect me to be something that I am just not.
  

  I felt the exact same way as a teenager. It started to effect my life and the decisions I made and it really upset me. I felt that way for years. Then when I was a bit older and was able to look back, I realised that no one was expecting me to be anything that I wasn’t. I was imagining/assuming they were. I think if you actually spoke to these people, you’d realize that they aren’t expecting you to be something that you aren’t at all. I wouldn’t waste your time worrying about this. Just be who you are and be comfortable being that person. If you are confident and comfortable in yourself, they will have no choice but to accept you as you are. Which I am pretty sure they already do!

  Jesermay, thanks for the advice. However, I’m not too worried about that. His culture has made him very old fashioned in that regard. He’s never ever had sex with someone he hasn’t been in a long term relationship with. And the thing is, he even hates when women are honest with him about their feelings first. In his country where he is from, it is a matter of pride that the woman waits until the man makes the first move, says the first thing….He spoke to me only recently about how a girl had been honest with him about how he felt, and he was telling me about how wrong it made him feel and that he could never be with a girl who had made the first move because it just was so ingrained in him that it was wrong. I know that he is not afraid to make the first move, so hence I was thinking that if I made myself physically attracted to him, it might work. And I know that people are meant to love you as you are. That’s great, and very idealistic. The thing is, someone can love you as you are but just not be physically attracted to you. And I wonder can you change the last part….

  I do get all that lolzy. But it’s not like he was pretending to be someone he wasn’t. And it’s not like I met him and thought ‘god he is so different’. He was just exactly the same as the guy I had spoken to for hours on Facebook for weeks. And also, I knew he hadn’t been talking to any other girls because every time I clicked onto his profile on the dating website it said ‘no one has contacted him this week - why not send him a message?’
  
  And I’m not being an idiot and saying ‘I’m in love’ - duh, I’m not. What I was saying was that I loved the idea of him and what he was on paper, and that yes, he was the perfect guy for me. For reasons which I won’t go in to. But we both had the same quirky characteristics which set us apart from society and made us bond. Plus, I come from a small island. So no one can really pretend to be anyone they are not online. Because chances are, you know their grandmother, or you have a friend who is best friends with them. It makes it incredibly safe to meet someone from online. The first person I ever met from online turned out to be an old friend of mine without me even realizing it!

  I don’t think so Dr. Jackson. Having older brothers, I have learned slightly more than most girls the way girls shouldn’t react, and the way most girls do. I’m not thinking wedding and kids (I never want kids, and I don’t believe in marriage) and although I really like him, I have made sure not to say anything to him that is in any way overbearing or anything that would come off as too strong. I’ve just seen so many examples of that from girls my brothers have gone out with, and I’ve seen what my brothers react to and how they laugh about it later in private. I don’t want to be like that. Up until now, he’s been the one who initiatives everything, and I’ve just responded positively enough so that he knows I am interested and not just aloof. All this stuff I’m talking about right now is really just what I’m thinking to myself.
  
  And thanks very much mindhealer. I like your suggestion that ‘he’s so completely in love that…’ If it were true, .I’d be so happy :p
