  This website should help you : http://travel.state.gov/passport/get/first/first_831.html (copy/paste it) It has all the information on Passeport and Visas.. You have to know that starting 01/2008 you are going to need your passeport to cross the border on land..You should call and talk to someone just to be sure to not be stuck in Canada if you stay pass the new years.. It’s funny how I’m dying to move to New York and I’m from Canada and your want to move to Canada and your from New York.. anyways I hope it’s going to help you.. Good luck.
