  sounds like a bad excuse too me.

  eventually you will gain there trust and acceptance by proving yourself a valuable asset to the organization, just play as hard as you always do and soon enough they will see that your an essential element of the team and without they would suck aha. If they dont realize it that quickly just casually talk to them during the game, cheer them on praise good plays and what not, its always nice to hear positive remarks from teammates which will also get them to play harder to earn your respect as well

  If you are good, then you shouldn’t have to worry about your first team being angry, as long as you can make all the games still and keep your commitment to them. Being a hockey player i have seen this before. The other goalie may not seem upset about not getting the same amount of ice time, so what i would do is confront your coach and say, i really want to be on this team, but only if ice time is given equally to each of us. Maybe even say it infront of the team during practice or the dressin room so they can see that your not trying to take away anything from the other goalie. And to be accepted by the team, all you can do is play your best, play hard and you will earn the respect from the players by winning them games :) hope this helps
