Yes, you do have to have REAL health problems to get SSD. Only your doctor can determine whether you are disabled or not. Some people who are deaf (my nephew) or even blind work, but they are healthy individuals who are able to do certain jobs. If you are unable to even get out of the bed some mornings how are you going to work?!
Are you, Anonymous, a doctor who has examined this person and determined that they are able to work?

I am so sorry for the problems you are experiencing. I am in about the same boat you are–wet, isn’t it? My van’s tranny went out a few months after I spent several thousand dollars getting it repaired! As to the suggestion that your daughter work (if she is even old enough) how will she get there?!
If you apply for food stamps they have a program where in dire situations you can get emergency food stamps that day. It sounds like you should qualify for low income medicaid, as well. Also, is your daughter’s mother in the picture? If not, maybe you could get TANF or Social Security on your daughter. I hope some of this helps.
2008-01-25 09:16:03 on I am a mother who has recently become disabled.
Thanks to all of you who cared enough to post a reply. I hope you all get help as well. I have gotten all the help that I qualify for from social services. I have been out of work almost 3 years and there is a lifetime limit on financial help through them. I hope to get my disability started within the next few months.
2008-01-25 07:17:56 on Does anyone know how to get rid of gall blander pancreas
I have had my gall bladder removed, and so I know from experience that only prescription pain killers help the pain. You could try to get a gall bladder flush kit from the health food store, but I am with Lyza, I think you should see your doctor first. Hope you feel better soon.
2007-12-13 11:04:11 on I owe a my ex-boyfriend 50,000 dollars and I need a creative way to make the money back so I can get him out of my life.
Well, to clarify what I said:
I am NOT suggesting that you rip anyone off, thank you very much, I know what it’s like to be left hanging and wouldn’t want it to happen to anyone else. It sounds like it was a gift to me and if you really don’t want this guy in your life just send him a money order every month for whatever you can afford.

Did you sign anything? If not, where’s the proof you borrowed the $$$?
2007-12-12 10:31:14 on what is your favrite song or t.v.
My favorite song is “Hotel California” by The Eagles. I have several favorite TV show–The 4400, The Dead Zone, House, and several more.
2007-12-12 10:27:21 on i need help
I know how you feel. I am having the same issue. I saw my doctor and he says it is depression. He gave me some meds to try. Wish me luck! Maybe it will help–maybe you could try some meds for a while, just to get over the worst of it.
2007-12-12 10:25:21 on What would you like for christmas?
I would like to get my transmission fixed in my van.
2007-12-10 04:06:18 on I am attempting to get help through Social Security, but this can take up to 30 months.
I am disabled and out of work. I have applied for SSI, but it takes FOREVER to get it started. Most of the charities only help with Christmas for children 12 and under. My daughter is 16. I have explained to her about the money situation, and she is very understanding. She is such a great kid that I wish that she could have something nice for Christmas. Also, she really needs clothing.
My money situation is ZERO. If it weren’t for my parents we would be homeless. They would help with Christmas, but they have helped so much that they have nothing left to give.
