i worked part time when i was in high school and i’m very glad i did. you have your own money and it gives you some independence from your parents. it teaches you responsibility, you have to go to work and be on time or you risk getting fired. it also teaches your time management, you have to keep up with you studies, your friends and you job.
i suppose if you’re just looking for disadvantages you could say it takes away from your school work but as long have you manage your time well you won’t have a problem. you could say it takes away from time with your friends but this goes back to the time management issue as well.
if you are looking for a job, make sure you shop around. find a job that will be flexible and work around your schedule.

i am currently having similar troubles. i am in forbearance right now but that’s about up and i’m not sure how i’m going to afford my payments, you’re not alone.
my first question is have you consolidated? often when you do this you can dramatically reduce your payments. plus some companies will let you have anew forbearance once you consolidate with them. my one piece of advice here, DO NOT USE SALLIE MAE that company is the devil.
as far as your daughter’s school is concerned, has she looked at other schools? there are many schools that there is no waiting to get into a nursing program.
and i don’t see why your daughters loans wouldn’t be back in a grace period if she’s in the program unless she’s in enrolled in classes at that time.
you should pray about it. God doesn’t give us more than we can handle.

i find it somewhat amusing. my best friend and i were talking about something similar to this the other night. when we were in high school out parents were so strict with us and we feel because of that, we acted like we were NUTS. we snuck out of our houses and did many things we really should not have. and it’s just kind of funny the parents that shield their kids (too much) are the ones that usually end up with the wild ones.
