  you are not a terrible person. I hurt myself as well, for the last six or seven months i have beaten my upper legs with things (rocks, etc..) until they were really badly bruised. I am now coming to terms with why I do it. Although i always understood that I should cope with the overwhelming scary miserable feeling in a less destructive way I was not able to. i would even be thinking “I dont want to do this, i shouldnt do this, i wont do this” seconds before I would hit myself. In my case it turns out that it is because i have ADD and the frustration I experience when I struggle with something builds. Also I have highly emotionally disfunctional parents who have made me internalize a lot of my problems with them because they are completely closed to discussing them, the result of which is anytime we do disagree I feel like a failure as both a person and a daughter. My mother is also a skilled passive aggressive emotional blackmailer. i have figured this out with therapy and and now getting more a grasp on it, Ive realized that you cant expect to never dissappoint the people you love however hard that is, you cant be perfect. Its easy to say and hard to think and feel. I struggle with it every minute of every day. Everyone has a different reason that makes us do this. The internet says its a cry for help but for me i never felt that way, I felt like it was a personal thing that helped me escape even if just for a second from the life I couldnt handle and make me focus instead on the simple action and resulting pain because it was the only thing that could distract me for any length of time. I think if you figure out your reasons really specifically you are at least on the road to knowing how to fix the source of the problem. I know its hard, I thought I was over it a few times something would always set me off really badly and Id go back to it. Its hard to know what else to do. I think, for me at least, I will be able to stop forever when i 100% understand why I hold everything inside until I snap instead of letting frustrations out as they occur. But im on my path, and you can def. figure you yours. Counselling/therapy is unbelievably helpful if you can find a therapist you like. If you dont click w/ them change immediately, it wont help and its a waste of time. But there are some amazing ones out there who will really get you, respect you and not pass any judgement.

• how young is too young to get married?
  

  I mean speaking for myself, Im 18 and in an amazing 3 year relationship but I wouldnt even consider getting married in the near future. Not until I know I am more settled in life i.e. through college and into a stable job/lifestlye.
  
  My question is more theoretical. Since so many marriages end in divorce these days, what causes that? rushing into marriages? the fact that nowadays divorce is far easier to come by? … I dont know the answer so curious as to other people’s perspectives. HOw much of a factor is age, what are other factors, and how do they effect things…

  in a lot of places it is not really enforced. I got piercings when I was 16 and lived in Spain. The legal age was 18 but they dont check I.D. In a lot of Europe if you look old enough to take responsibility for yourself you arent questioned.
