Thanks anonymous. I have tried a debt counseling company and I cannot afford the payments. Plus all my accounts have been sent to creditors. I have been working with someone for almost 6 months on trying to get approved for a refinance and it seems to be impossible. I just do not know what to do. I have equity and no way to touch it. My credit score is below 500. I looked on prosper and am not quite sure about it. I just do not know what to do who where to go. I work full time and do not have anyone to watch my child. If I had time I would just clean it and paint it and try to sell it. But it is hard when you work full time and have a 19 month old. And his father just doesn’t seem to care and keeps getting me more and more in debt. I just want to start over with my son and that seems to be impossible. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. Thank you.

Hi! I am new to this site. Did you ever get help? It seems like our credit situations are very similar. I have always worked very hard for everything that I have. I fell in love, have a beautiful 19 month old and now cannot provide for him as I was once able to. My son’s father and I are not married (were going to but….) anyways, he is a wonderful father emotionally but not FINANCIALLY. Needless to say my credit has been ruined and I cannot receive any help. Up until 2006 my credit was perfect, yet no one looks at that. I know have two lawsuits against me, a discharge and will probably receive more. I own my home but cannot touch the equity in my home to pay back the awful creditors and get my credit back. It is very sad to say that your credit score is your life. It is not fair to my son nor I for that matter that I work my butt off only to pay for a home that needs a little touch ups that i had not gotten to before he was born and only to pay bills. I have nothing extra, nothing left over after paying our basic necessities. I am miserable and do not want my son to his mom unhappy. and the sad thing is that is all due to the mighty dollar. Why can’t lenders look at who you are and what you have done for your lifetime instead of one year?
Anyways, I was just wondering if you found any help or if anyone knows how to get help when your credit has been recently ruined.
