  Oh man, I’m gonna be a big dork and reveal my love for Evolutionary Psychology and how it has taught me to relate attraction to genetic survival and replication value.
  
  People are attracted to traits in a mate that make them likely to survive and pass on their genes. People who were/are attracted to other traits instead don’t pass on their genes, and the next generations are not like them.
  
  - The quickest way to eliminate your genes is to devote your resources to raising other people’s kids. If you’re attracted to a girl who is sleeping with you and 50 other guys, you have a 1/51 chance of passing on your genes each time your girl gets pregnant. So, most guys are attracted to girls who are
  
  1) Loyal
  2) Not gotten too easily (because if you can get her with no effort, why not other guys?)
  
  - A requirement of passing on your genes is mating with girls easily capable of reproduction, which means that guys tend to be attracted to girls who
  
  3) Are old enough to have reached puberty, but not too old to get pregnant (which in human females is generally a 15-35 age range)
  
  4) Have at least some curves (because girls without hips tend to die when trying to push out a baby, which was a significant risk until modern medicine)
  
  - When you do have children, they have to be healthy enough to reach adulthood and pass on your genes for you, or else your line still dies after 1 generation. So men are attracted to women who are healthy, so that their children are healthy enough to reproduce. Some evolutionary signs of health:
  
  5) Shiny, healthy hair.
  6) Bright, active eyes.
  7) Clear skin
  8) Symmetrical features (because asymmetry tends to happen in genetic defects, which makes it less likely for your offspring to survive)
  
  - When you have healthy offspring, there are still risks in life. Men who are attracted to women who have the ability to help raise and protect children had a better chance of their genes surviving. So, men tend to be attracted to women who possess these qualities:
  
  9) Toned muscles and not too much fat (because life and raising children was, for most of our evolution, very physical work)
  10) A devotion toward their friends and family (because it makes it more likely that you will devote effort toward any new children you have)
  11) Intelligence (because it takes smarts for a physically weak creature like humans to survive and protect their young in the wild)
  
  - In the harsh pre-historic world that humans evolved in, children had a much better chance of surviving and passing on more genes if two parents were working together to protect and raise them, rather than just one. So, men are attracted to women who have “compatible” personalities, which just means that they are likely to be able to work together without too much conflict for long periods of time. Some signs that a man will not have insurmountable conflict with a woman:
  
  12) You have a similar sense of humor and can make each other laugh.
  13) You enjoy the same types of activities
  14) You don’t have to cross the barrier of seperate tribes (which manifests itself in modern times as people who have similar styles of dress, tastes in music, etc)
  
  - Once you can have offspring and protect them, the men who’s genes most influence future generations were the men who were able to have a lot of offspring. So, once you’ve shown a man you’re not easy and won’t sleep with just anyone, men are generally attracted to women who:
  
  15) Love a physical relatioship and will sleep with them often.
  
  - And, one last consideration. Not all men want the best of the qualities listed above. If an average man was only attracted to the best of the women out there, he wouldn’t pass on his genes because the best women would ignore him to be with the best men. Men are attracted to these qualities and will fantasize about the top of the women out there, but if they are not the best of the men they will tend to be attracted to:
  
  16) Women with about their same level of attractiveness (i.e. the best they can get)
  
  
  Of course, men vary with social influences and this won’t always be the top traits. However, attraction to these traits are seen in a wide variety of species that have and raise offspring similarly to ourselves. And though there are a wide variety of other traits and people have all kinds of logical rationalizations for why they are attracted to certain things, it is my experience that most men have these traits near the top of the things they attract to.

  I’ve never understood why everyone assumes life has to have some inherent meaning.
  
  I don’t look for a predetermined meaning of life; I make my own. Seeing new places, experiencing new feelings, having new adventures, enjoying my beautiful friends - these things are more than enough reason to get up every morning.
  
  Yeah, there’s still pain, but pain is worthwhile. Pain gives a greater dimension to the feelings you experience, and it helps define your pleasure. Pain also teaches you when you are doing something that might not be worth doing, so it makes you smarter.
  
  Life is pain, but life is also beauty and thunderstorms and great food and enlightening books and wild sex and mountain climbing and new languages and more things that can ever be listed. If you are not finding a meaning for your life where you are, why not go do something else?

• (2 votes) Ok, I’ve got a question about a mans perspective.
  

  Physically - It seems that people often don’t realize how much the way a woman moves plays into how alluring she is. Take something like belly dancing or poledancing classes; not even for the actual act of dancing, but rather so that you can become comfortable with somewhat curving, sensual motion. After that, just give all of your normal movements a tint of that sensuality. The way a woman walks, the way a woman moves her arms, even the sensuality present in the way a woman moves her facial muscles when she speaks - all of these things can be insanely alluring on a very subtle level.
  
  Stylistically - incorporate into your clothing the “lingerie theory” - i.e. it’s not about what you show, but rather about what you don’t show. Find clothes that you feel really emphasize places on your body without showing them. Things like tops that focus on the shape of the bust but don’t have much cleavage, or dresses that fit the form of the hips and legs but are long enough to keep a man from feeling like he can see what he wants, or even things like a bellybutton ring or a top that lifts just a little higher than your pants that will draw his attention to an area that he wants to see, but then is covered very well by clothing… all these things have a certain allure to them. Basically, if it seems like its so classy that you’re not trying to be sexy, but it clearly can be sexy if you think about it that way, it will have an allure to it.
  
  Also, a very certain type of jealousy can be alluring and actually good for a relationship. I’m not talking about making him think you are or could cheat on him; that could easily have the opposite effect that you want. He just needs to see that other guys are noticing you. Don’t show him this through anything you seem like you could be intentionally doing - i.e. don’t flirt with other guys or tell him about all the guys that hit on you. Rather, once you have that alluring walk and dress down well, go out with him to places where you can be noticed by other men. Pretend that you don’t even see these other men checking you out, but he will definitely notice. Focus on him as though no other man matters to you, and when he sees that you could have plenty of men but you have a heart for nobody but him, then he will be pulled all the more deeply into your charm.
  
  On top of all that, the only advice I have is the very general “be exciting and new”. This applies to all catagories of life. Go out with him to do new social things. Try new food at home and eat out at new places. Encourage him to try new things with you. Be confident and seem excited about finding new areas of life. And, of course, trying new things in bed is always good.
  
  Those are the types of things that I have found alluring about women. I don’t know if your husband is similar, but I hope it helps.

  College can feel like a joke, and in all truth it can be less than it’s touted as being. However, I’d have you consider some things. Any degree in college, ANY degree, will increase both the range of jobs you can get and your earning potential in a lot of different job markets, regardless of whether or not that market is directly related to your field of study. Sure, there are plenty of job markets where you need a specific type of degree… but if you drop out of college you won’t be worried about these anyway. If college is not a specific tool to get to a specific point in your life, it can still be a very useful general resource.
  If you have a specific goal that does not involve college, by all means go out and chase your dreams. College is one of the businesses with the greatest marketing and plenty of people will try to convince you that you need college to do anything worthwhile or profitable in life. That is a lie. However, if you aren’t chasing something specific, give yourself the wide range of opportunities that a college degree can offer. If you aren’t chasing something specific, you just might drop out of college and spend the next many years working at your local pizza hut while thinking about the things in life that may or may not be a joke.
  A college degree, even if it is not for some very specific goal, can offer a wide variety of opportunities both in experiential gain and financial gain. If you don’t know what you want to do, why unnecessarily close such big doors?

  I think that it is a complex idea, and not something most people think about, but it is interesting.
  However, if the above passage is true, doesn’t this also seem likely:
  
  -God created existence … therefore, existence (as a creation) became existent but was separate from God and remains separate from God during its existence … when existence (ie the creation) rejoins God it becomes non-existent … therefore, existence becomes non-existent. God is present the entire time, it is the creation (existence) that is present and is not present.-
  
  This is why I think the idea of an ultimate Creator precludes the idea of God’s existence or non-existence. Really if there was a god that created everything, neither idea could encapsulate that god and both must be as true as they are untrue.
