Yeah they’re incredible. Wish you could hold them. They’re so needy and innocent right now, and eventually they’ll show their humans unconditional love.
Hey Sam. You need to tell the doc the whole story, otherwise he has probably prescribed you the wrong thing. If I tell a doctor, “I have a headache” he may tell me to take ibuprofen. If I tell him that I also have numbness on one side of my body, he might conclude that I had a minor stroke. In that case, waiting for the headache medicine to work would be foolish.
You should balance the shrink-meds approach with someone who is more holistic. Diet, vitamins, lifestyle and non-traditional medicine could help too. I agree that a pill alone is not the whole answer.
Yeah, turns out all they had for me was drugs :(
And the guy I see now…. I dunno I think I have difficulty communicating with him. It might just be that I need to get used to him or something.
But still it’s better than when I was doing nothing about it.
Hey, by the way, I’ve been referred to a professional that actually knows what they’re doing. Could be the start of good things! Just thought I’d let you know.
I’m sort of back. Because I was on holiday at grandma’s house and needed to talk to SOMEBODY that wasn’t a family member. But I dunno. Right now I feel terrible, as I just completely erased a game I was making by accident.
How’re you?
Hey, thanks, and no worries, there’s nothing in that I don’t like. But I’ll never use man-made medication as far as I can help it. :S
BUT tomorrow I am going to really try to try to go to see the scary man in the big scary building, i.e. the young person’s mental health place. So maybe that will push me in the right direction.
Heya.
I’m off, got things that need doing. I’m sure you get what I mean. Hoping to ensure I stay in contact via email. Just wanted to drop a note to explain.
i use Freehand, Flash, Cheetah, Final Cut, Photoshop, Fireworks, Dreamweaver, stuff like that.
we just do like pretend design briefs and then get a grade for each one.
i didn’t realize you were studying in my field. are you at the point in your school where you get to do hands-on, and if so, what programs? i use a lot of photoshop, final cut pro, primere pro, avid, after effects, dreamweaver, flash and so on.
stephen king’s book “on writing” will inspire you. he has lots of good advice for writing. your imagination is incredible; you might as well put it to work for your livelihood.
well, i’m doing Graphic and Media Design at college at the moment, dunno what’s next though.
but yeah i think in the next break from college i might try write something good.
i’d love to see your drawings when you get your scanner. have you thought of getting a degree in the field?
suit yourself as far as a counselor is concerned. i was just reading a medical report on how pot can increase the likelihood of schizophrenia, and i’m not surprised, given my experience.
i didn’t really plan my novel, but wish i had. it was originally an idea for a short story and i got carried away. pick up stephen king’s book “on writing” to get solid advice on it.
no, i don’t have a blog, but thanks, i’ll consider it.
i draw pretty weird stuff. once i get a decent scanner for my computer, i’ll be able to put it on the internet. my dad says it’s a bit like Picasso crossed with Transformers crossed with comic books.
i’m not sure i want to see a professional though, as i’m quite enjoying it now, sort of.
How do you go about planning a novel? because I can write short stuff, but every time i’ve tried to write something longer it’s got jumbled up and confusing.
Oh and also was meaning to ask you, do you have like a website or blog with other writings? If not i think you should.
i’ve only seen a small sample of your tagging. what other kind of illustrations have you done?
yeah, i loved horace. he was based on this old hitchhiker i picked up late one night on my way home from work. i took him to get a hamburger. he claimed to be drinking a quart of liquor a day but i don’t see how that’s possible.
circle were dear to my heart too, especially casey. granny jan was also based on a real person, a woman i know who had three handicapped children. one of her sons, steve (in the acknowledgments) was my best friend, but has since passed away.
try to see a therapist. you’re not going mad, sam, it’s just that you have a creative brain that needs expression and has gone down the wrong track. talking to a professional about it might help you discern between reality and illusion. otherwise, as a voice once told a boy locked in a closet, “reality is an illusion.”
Writing and illustrating children’s books is like my dream career!
Horace was definitely my favorite character. I really liked Circle in general. But damn I wanted to slap that Dr.Jeanine woman!!!
I’m doing ok I suppose. Think I might be going a bit mad though lol.
I’m not smoking as much weed recently, but it’s mostly down to having no money if i’m honest.
literally just now finished the book.
thank you very much for sending it, and indeed writing it.
thoroughly enjoyed it!
i think you’re very good at creating characters that the reader will care about.
thanks again, it was awesome.
