I realized that I was using this place to procrastinate, and I decided to not come back until I had accomplished a few goals. I didn’t finish them all, but last week I made significant progress. Now I’ll see if I start wasting too much time here again, or if I’ll use my time more effectively.

How did you stay away so long? I tried and didn’t make it two days.

Baba this doesn’t add up. A businessman of 18 who’s worked since 13. Had a new house built, paying for an apartment. I think Richard has it right in saying it’s a troll.

Just don’t let them loose in the house. You’re a good mom to let them have animals.

Now my daughters class is studying the little frogs that live in the water and the little crabs. When they are done, she wants to adopt one. So it looks like our zoo will be growing. But I love animals so I like it.

Yeah hamsters are fast. The more time your son spends with it the more he’ll see it as a friend. Maybe I should have said start with the hamster in the tub and the child out! Oh, and put a towel down so the hamster doesn’t slide around on the edges of the tub so much.

We tried the bathtub with the hamster. My son started freaking out and got scared of it and started crying. He calmed down and petted it so all is well in his world again.

THanks for the ideas. I think we will try using the tub. I’ll let you know how goes.

She does hold the hamster, but it is quick about crawling away too. Once I was letting it climb around on us on the sofa, and before I knew it the little furball had climbed between the cushions and into the sofa. I had to cut the bottom cloth underneath to get it out. Now if she wants to play with it, she takes it to the walk-in closet and closes the door so it can’t escape. I have pulled all the boxes and stuff a little away from the closet walls so it has a sort of hamster highway and room to explore. To make it more fun we turn off the light and use glow sticks or mini flashlights. (We shot a video called Hamsteria but I haven’t edited it yet.) At their mom’s house, my kids will put it in the tub (without water) to play, since there’s no walk-in closet there.

Does your daughters hamster let her hold it? I have tried to pick up Owens but she climbs right out of my hands. Quickly I might add. She lets us pet her and does not seam scared. I was just wondering because her really wants to hold it.

I have to get to bed. I am recording one of my husbands internet radio shows for him in the morning. He is in California until Wednesday. This is the first time I am doing it and have only done one practice. So I am a little nervous and probable wont sleep but I should as least try.

The dog that switches houses with them is my daughter’s golden. She still can’t stand boys, thank goodness.

I am looking forward for my boys getting past this fighting with each other stage. I see it slowing down but then there are days like today.

Joint custody has its ups and downs. As for the pets, when the kids are at my house we have 2 dogs, 2 parakeets, a hermit crab and tropical fish. When they’re at their mom’s, one of the dogs goes with them and they have the hamster.

My son (about to turn 13) wants a new cell phone and text capability. My daughter (8) doesn’t want to grow up. I can’t quite figure that out.

How are your kids doing with the joint custody? Is it going smoothly? They have to like having double the pets.

That’s okay, sometimes your job as mom is to feel like crap for doing what needs to be done. After all, you’d feel like crap AND not be doing what’s right if you let him get away with it.

I am the mean mom right now. I took his hamster out of his room because he hit his brother. He has been just horrid today. He had lost everything else. His bike, the computer, the TV, being able to play with his brother. He had been in time out half the day. I was out of things to do. I warned him I would put the Hamster in is sisters room if he hit again. 10 minutes later he hit his brother. So now I feel like crap.

Hi Baba, hope your son’s birthday was a good one. My kids have a hamster but it lives at their mom’s house. I have the rest of the menagerie.

Last night I went to a taping of a PBS special presented by Dr. Amen. He talks about having a heathy brain. He talked a little about kids being on the computer and texting so much. It was not a study he did but a teacher was concerned about her students seeming addicted to texting and their computers. So he talked a little about it. He said the computer addicted teens had a 10pt drop in IQ where as the marijuana smoker had a 4pt drop.
I know you closed you post but I just wanted to mention it to you. I do not know how much validity it has and how the study was conducted but thought it was worth mentioning. He also mentioned the lack of physical socializing our teens are having and it concerns him although he has not done any studies on it. I just think you do not need to bring the texting into your sons life.

My world feels much better now that we have moved.
The house is very nice, a bit upscale for my comfort zone but the kids are in great schools and that is what I wanted.

I will be having more to for help here soon. Few more days of unpacking and organizing and I will be spreading the peace again. = )

THe production company he works with is located in Nashville. HE has been staying in a corporate apt. for about a year. We thought he would be able to be home more but he just keeps getting more and more work. Which is good but give us little time together. We do a lot of traveling back and forth. And I am ready get back to a “normal” life.

It will work out. At worst, one of you would have to live in a “extended stay” hotel for a week or so while you sort out the credit stuff. Also, there should be plenty of individuals with houses for rent who do not require a credit report. I’m renting the house I live in now and didn’t have to fill one out.

Did you or your husband find a new job in TN?

He used annual credit report .com. I do not know why he could not view it online.

It is my husband friend who is going to rent from us. So I am hoping that will make it better.

I am trying to keep positive. I am just want to be done with it and moving on.

That doesn’t sound right. An Equifax report should be pretty instantaneous. There are three credit report companies that have to offer one to you for free (once a year I think) so maybe he should try again.

When I was married, my wife and I rented the house we lived in and rented out the house we owned in another state. Being a landlord was a hassle, so I don’t envy you.

Hang in there and keep trying.

I am just stress with going through the process of moving. We are keeping the house we own and renting it out. We are going to rent a house in TN. We were going to move this week. The the rental company said something showed up on our credit. We do not know what it is. They can not tell us. My husband went to pull our credit and could not view it on line. So now we have to wait until it comes in the mail to figure out the problem. We think it might be some debt of his fathers, since they have the same name. But it will still take time to get it cleared and I feel like I am running out of time. The school in TN where the children will go, starts Aug. 11.

So stress is bringing me down.

I need sleep. I can not stay up and wait any longer. I am going to keep my mind positive. Hopefully she just took herself back to rehab. That would be the best thing she could do for herself right now.

Did I invite you to xxx1’s post baba? I don’t think I did. She’s going to need company while she recovers from being under an abuser’s control. I suggested she visit other posts to take her mind off of him, but I’m sure she could use a shout or so.

We all do what we can. Like most people I came here because I needed help, and found friends by accident.

She really does have a lovely heart. She has been through so much it is understandable how she has such a hard time coping. I think it is great how much you have helped her.

Sarah has both my real email and my cell phone number, but she’s so damn stubborn.

I know as I was reading through the post I could feel her panic. It is so hard when we do not have a way to get help to them. It is just breaking my heart. I wish she could log on and update us.

I know you understand because you’re the same way. I can’t imagine what Kim must be going through. She’s still broken-hearted over Jason.

I see how much you give here. It takes a lot of you sometimes. I know it does me.
