Ok, leaving everyone you know and love for one man a looong way away is seriously worth thinking about. I know - I am one of those guys! I met my partner of 5 years on the internet, and after about 4 months of talking, peaking at the end every night for 3 hours at least… she finally decided to come for a visit - that was a 12 hour bus ride, and had every intention of going back home. So she came down for two weeks - we really hit it off, then she went home to tie up some loose ends and came back to live with me 3 months later. We lived together for 4 years but she often had moments where she seriously missed her family. Her friends and family came and stayed every now and then but it didnt really help. She got herself a really good job, but still wanted to give it all up and go back home, only not without me. Eventually I agreed to go back with her, having no family nearby. A year later we’ve bought a house together and are planning to get married.

The moral of the story is, be sure what your getting yourself into, but it may not go as planned, just be sure you are happy whichever way it goes.

Thanks for the ideas, but no, unfortunately not what I’m looking for. I want to answer calls coming to my house when I’m not online - just have my laptop running and the modem recognising the incoming call and letting me know, then answering the call hands free through my laptops speakers and mic. Nothing over the internet.
