  Then you have no means to try an aid someone who is depressed. I don’t choose to hate myself. It’s not a lack of willpower.
  
  I’ve been the way I am ever since I was six years old. Six year olds don’t even understand their feelings at that age. So how is it that I chose to be that way?
  
  Every human wants to be happy. Nobody wants to cry and hurt. No one wants to hurt so much inside that they can’t bear to get up and face the day.
  
  I consider myself lucky that I was only born and abused in an alcoholic family. Lucky that I only had to watch my family around me die at a young age. I’m happy that I was only picked on by everyone in my classes from grade to grade since kindergarten. I’m joyful that the kids only discriminated against me because of my race. I’m greatful that all of my friends turned their backs on me and spread rumors about me.
  
  I am so lucky that ONLY ALL THAT happened to me. I couldn’t be more thankful that I wasn’t raped, or molested, or beat up in my 15 years of life.
  
  And I didn’t choose to be depressed anymore than I chose to have OCD and ADHD.
  But I haven’t exactly grown up in the happiest of households.
  
  I’ve had my medication adjusted so many times in an attempt to block whatever chemicals are floating around in my brain that are causing me to feel this way. I HATE FEELING this way.
  
  There was a time that I hated feeling this way so much that I wanted to stop feeling.
  
  I think you may have mistaken me for an emo or another bratty teenager. You could not be more wrong, my friend. I have lived enough sh*tty life to earn the right to feel the way i do.
  
  And I’m not gonna take some crap from some pompous thirteen year old.
  
  I suggest you try to get to know someone before you come to conclusions about them. And I also suggest you talk on subjects you have experience with.
  
  You are going to grow a lot if you stay on help.com. There are a lot of wonderful people here that have a lot to teach. I’ve learned so much from the year and six months I’ve been here.
  
  So I suggest you settle down and start listening.

  It sounds like you’re in pretty deep. It will take a lot more than will power to get you out of your current situation.
  
  You’re addicted and you know it. But you also know that cutting damages your health and really only provides a temporary and dangerous satisfaction.
  
  You should seek professional help, sweetie. See a psychiatrist, a social worker, or a psychologist. They can help you far more then any of us can.

  And concerning your paranoia just saddle up and go for the ride. Leave everything behind. Just DO IT. Because more often than not you’ll never get the chance again.
  
  You can weigh the possibilities of outcomes all you want but there’s always a 50% your plan will go wrong. And you can’t let that number keep you from taking the plunge.

  But in all seriousness there are only two things you can do, really. Tell her you like her, or do nothing. There are advantages and disadvantages to either option.
  
  If you confess she may have an array of different reactions ranging from pleasant surprise to the ever-so awkward “Oh…”.
  You may be risking the friendship, but you may walk out of the situation with a girlfriend.
  
  If you do nothing you can continue to be friends and wait for her to come forward in some way. You may be saving the friendship, but then again you may also walk out feeling like “If only I had taken the chance”
  
  These situations are so unpredictable. Girls are very random creatures. She may act a certain way and feel another. She may say something but mean something else. You never really know who you’re dealing with when socializing with the common female.
  
  If I were you I would drop subtle hints, try flirting. Make it clear to her that I really appreciate her and respect her.
  I would try to strengthen the relationship as much as possible without going into the “friend zone” or the “WOAH you’re clingy take a few steps back, buddy”
