  Hey, I feel your pain. I’m hair dye obsessed too. In the past year my hair has been bright pink, blonde, pink and blonde, dark brown, blue black, purpley black, plain black, black and blond, red, and now its black again. My hair is probably in much the same condition yours is in. Other than going to a salon and getting treatments there, I guess all you can really do is condition, condition, condition. Oh, and more conditioner. I use a lot of leave in conditioners on my hair, also I use heat activated de-frizz serum. It helps a little. Try not to wash your hair everyday also so your scalp has a chance to build up some natural oil. Just wash it every other day and let it air dry. Don’t rub it with the towel either. Make sure your hair is mostly dry before you comb or brush it too.

  Well, if you’ve seen any of my other posts, you’ll notice that I and a few other women are going through the exact same thing. Its really quite frustrating that it seems like theres an epidemic of confused males going on. Whats up? Without trying to sound bitter, c’mon is it REALLY so hard to tell if you want to be with us or not? And if this is about you guys just wanting to “see what else is out there”, then why not just break it off with us and stop being so selfish? You cannot have your cake and eat it too. You can’t test the water and have a back-up girlfriend in case things don’t work out. Not only is that selfish, but it’s completely unfair to us, the women that just want to love you and have you love us.

  Do guys not realize just how much us women have on our plates, too? Yet you don’t see us running away or telling our guys “we need time to figure things out”. I’m not saying that NEVER happens, but not nearly as often as it seems to with guys. So are us women just better at coping with multiple stressors while maintaining a relationship? And just what do guys think they’re going to accomplish when they go on a break? Are they expecting some sort of lightbulb moment? A flash of insight? Like one day they’re going to wake up and say: “Dang, I really DO love her! I have all this time, but I just figured it out!” Does that really happen for you guys? Because, at least for me, there was no lightbulb moment when I knew that I love my boyfriend. Theres never been any question, its always just been that way.
  Sometimes I wonder if the reason guys want to take breaks is because they expect some sort of miracles in their relationships. Maybe THEY’RE the ones with unrealistic expectations of how relationships are supposed to be. I dunno.

  I’m Canadian too :)
  We had to talk about this when I was in school too.
  I think people usually consider Canadians to be pretty laid back, nice, passive people. For the most part I agree with that. I also think part of our own identity is not wanting to be identified as an American. I don’t personally have anything against the States or the American people as a whole, but given the present situations in the Middle East and some of the negative feelings that certain nations have against the U.S, I have to say that I’m especially glad to be Canadian right now.
  I also think that we’re proud to be Canadians but we tend not to be so…”flag waving”(?) about it. We’re very patriotic, but not in your face about it either.

  I think that you both need to negotiate and find out where each of you stands on a scale of one to ten (one being not wanting a child at all, ten being desperately wanting a child). If his desire to not have any more children falls on the shorter end of the scale and yours falls higher on the scale, then why should his mild preference override your overwhelming need? Of course there are short-term and long-term consequences to this decision, but ask him: does he regret knowing either of his children? Does he really want to force you to regret not having any and knowing the joy that he has known with his kids?
  Your boyfriend is not a bad man for feeling this way and his feelings are valid. But relationships are about give and take, each party making sacrifices. This could be his chance to do something truly wonderful in your life. Having a child is a huge decision for both of you. You both just need to talk about it and find out how important this is to both of you. Good luck!

  I’m so sorry Tammy. I know its hard but try and look at this like as a speed bump; it’ll slow you down but don’t let it stop you. I encourage you and everyone who reads this thread to write to Oprah. If you could get on her show..she’s one of the most influential people in the world.

  And if all else fails, you can move to Richmond, B.C! I was one of a small number of Caucasian kids in my school :) Nobody here cares what race you are. For example: I was walking through a mall parking lot a few weeks ago and an older Chinese lady came up to me, handed me a flyer and started speaking to me in Cantonese. She knew I didn’t understand a word, but she just kept smiling and talking and pushing the flyer in my hands. She didn’t care if the white girl didn’t understand her and the flyer was in Chinese, she probably just knew that the odds were in her favour that I had at least ONE friend who would be able to read the thing *lol*

  Granted, kids can be horrible little beasts, and they could be making fun of you just because they’re nasty people, but maybe they don’t know anything about you? People are always afraid of what they don’t know. Maybe they’re basing their attitude towards you on stereotypes.

  Ah, so then you know (about the population thing).
  Are you sure they are picking on you because you’re Chinese? Do they use racial slurs and stuff like that? Well, regardless, they shouldn’t make fun of you because of your race.
  I know its difficult, but you should be very proud of your heritage. The Chinese community has contributed some very wonderful things to the culture of our country and theres nothing for you to be ashamed of. Who cares what those kids say? Be proud of who you are and just tell them “I am who I am, and if you don’t like me, so what? I wouldn’t want to be friends with people like you anyway.”
